Sorry but can you imagine the dynamic link up play and creativity of Hatem Ben Arfa with the lethargic, inconsistent Shola Ameobi? Such a waste, Shola needs to earn his place in the team, and Best offers more, including the pace to play in front of Ben Arfa.

though i was not a fan of Besty but he is putting the goals away, yh he currently isnt a 20 goal a season man, but we get 2-3 strikers in the summer give him a proper partner i reckon he'd get better stats, im not a shola fan, and loverkrands is too hit and miss and i can tell pardew has no real faith in ranger,
strikers is such a big must in Summer

Best or Shola, perhaps you could influence our decision with formations. One with Shola, one with Best and hey, best and Shola together..............

I agree with Tash. Besty has looked very impressive and grabbed his chance with both hands. 3 scoring matches out of 7 is impressive and 5 out of 7 is better than the greasy haired one!

The way I see it is that for the first half of this season, Best and Lover didn't get a look in at the first team, yet now find themselves our first choice pairing, somehow eluding Ranger, and in both their cases this is probably their last chance to make it at Newcastle, and are desperate to prove they are worthy of staying and starting. Lover is the wrong side of 30, and Best is/was an unproven Championship striker, who would probably have been off in the summer had Carroll stuck around. It's great to see two strikers giving their all for the team, and fighting to prove their worth

Hes only had one game where hes had more than 25 minutes to influence the game and that was against Fulham, the night where the entire 11 didnt turn up.

Hardly enough to judge too much.

I for one don't want to see Nile Ranger getting anywhere near the squad

From everything I've heard, he's a little southern tit who doesn't have the attitude or desire to become worthy of the black and white shirt

    Though he's better than Carroll

Carroll was the same but a Northen tit at the same age. Didnt Preston North End actually end his loan spell once because his attitude was that bad?
I think he's just a kid and he'll learn - god knows what I was like when I was 19 - Ranger just needs to keep developing at the rate he's doing and he'll hopefully mature a lot over the next couple of years.
It always confounds me how much we expect from youth nowadays in football, there was a time when 20/21 was still considered a hot prospect, now they're expected to be nigh on fully developed first team members!
