Reckon they’re going for Rosie as he has experience of a steering sinking ship in administration. Nice bit of forward planning.
Post of the day. So the reply I gave to vern earlier... I forgot to mention, whilst engaging in a self-congratulatory w*nk one should insert a finger to find their gspot. That's what the public school masters allegedly say anyway.... From thence withall one should be able to open- wide and direct their self-congratulatory spunk inside the lips and towards the tonsils accordingly - though you may need advocaat to temporarily disable your gag reflex - especially if you need to 'fix' your grades ahead of the 'strap' next time you went home if you didn't. 'old chum'. If you think Vern's being a dick then you are too expecting modern, millionaire players to behave to schoolboy discipline in this day and age at an elite football club, but there you go. Some think it's the same as rugby league in this city - go figure. If you can't make the distance in terms of projections vern - then contact your gp for one of those prostate checkups. At least that's what your kid told me. It might save your life. But as far as football is concerned, reality bares no fu@king relation to what w*nkers think on a messageboard. The owner has appointed a manager who's earned both his respect through his selection process, and has also independently earned our respect as a player. Give him some ****ing courtesy at least.
Always hoped it would happen, so I wish him the best of luck. Let’s see if coaching team with connnections to the club and area, along with a core of home grown players like Coyle and Greaves, and players with heart like Doc, can somehow get this squad firing. The talent is there, the club owner is supportive, the fan goodwill is swelling. We have the ingredients.
Just hope the owner realises we have to perhaps reinforce the battlements to give the attacking talent a base to go forward from.
Coyle? Cyrus Christie is twice the player he is, in fact I think Agatha Christie may be a better option at right back than Coyle too. I will give you Doc though, he has looked great in recent games.
Providing Rosie doesn't do a D.J. Campbell on us, he has a few things in his in-tray: 1) Sort out WTF is wrong with Nathan Baxter. He isn't the keeper we saw last season. He hardly ever comes for crosses anymore and he no longer commands his area. if you can't sort him out - and if the loan deal allows it - bin him off back to Chelsea and get another keeper in. 2) Centre halves - sodding hell, it's been like watching Steve Richards and Steve Deere (c.1980) at times this season. No leadership, no organization, just last gasp defending. Their ineptitude has contributed to us having a disgraceful defensive record of only 1 clean sheet all season, and the worst defense in the league. Come January you need to bring in at least two 6ft 4' experienced centre-halves who are both leaders and organizers. Drop / sell the current bunch. 3) Wing backs, full backs, wide players or whatever you want to call them. Get them out wide to stop opposition teams get their crosses into our box so easily. If we can't defend the ball coming in, then stop it from coming in the first place. 4) Midfield. For all of our fancy-dan new signings, where is the brains? Where is the nous? Last night, M'boro had 2 players on yellow cards after 5 minutes. surely somebody clocked who they were? So why didn't anyone go one-to-one on them when we had possession, knowing that if they drew a foul, then the ref had a decision to make? Might need to see some comings and goings in the midfield area in January. 5) Up front. Get Oscar some help ASAP. The bloke is feeding off scraps. Finally, welcome back and good luck Rosie - on the evidence of this season so far you'll need it
I have just been speaking to a proper Derby fan this morning - that is one who knows his onions - who was saying the football under Rosey was so slow and ponderous, with a lot of sideways and backwards passing and lacking any real drive. Sounds like the perfect fit for us then.
What wide players? We're playing 5x CMs in front of our full backs, who are expected to provide the width. None of those 5x CMs can effectively cover for the full backs when they're out of position though. Oscar seems to get off lightly on here. He's been pretty poor in recent games. Admittedly the service into hime as been poor (see above), but he doesn't get himself involved in games, and he doesn't seem to make the ball stick at all. We don't play to his strengths at all, but that seems to be a reoccurring theme for strikers at City. Clusterfuck.
