Are we obsessed with possession or do we just not know what to do with it?

We don't have the luxury of great pace so they're not looking for the channels and when heads drop so does movement so we run out of ideas. Not great when someone's deep, getting pressed and no outball.

We have the ball but we don’t actually want the ball, we pass it sideways and backwards because that’s the easiest option to pass the responsibility on

A lot of that is a lack of pace and movement upstairs.

I can understand the concept that if we have the ball and they don't then they can't score, but the way we sometimes do it is to concede so much ground in the process the 1 or 2 mistakes which inevitably occur under a press will lead to a decent chance for the opppo.

    And there's no-one tracking deep-runners either so we're susceptible to the un-opposed 20 yarder's.

    A few observations.

I thought Woods was having a decent game, no idea why he was brought off.

What is Tufans actual attributes, he can‘t pass further than 5 yards, he can’t tackle, wanders about a half the time, no idea what he can do.

We have absolutely no pace what so ever, I thought Sinik was quick meant to beat a man?

Estupinan, hes a proper number 9, he needs someone running off, or some actual players near him.

    Give McLoughlin a game please.

We concede a lot of goals on our right.

I’m still confused how Ingram got dropped, Baxter is no better.

Last one, the World Cup is a godsend for us.

2 new centre backs and a proper defensive midfielder required in January. This was obvious in summer but was neglected. It doesn’t matter if you have Rosenior or Mourinho in charge, you’re going to lose games with our centre backs. Anytime a cross comes into our box it’s either a goal or a bad miss. Also if we don’t start with 2 centre midfielders on the wings at home, that would be nice.

yes Baxter no better than Ingram
What has Mcloughlin done that he cant get a look in, he should replace Figuererdo. Mcloughlins displays last year were streets ahead of Figueredos performances
Our build ups are too slow. The passing is not fast enough, our first touch needs to better.
    We need to press harder.
We simply do not create chances nor have many shots of target. Middlesbotough despite have little possession fashioned more clear cuit chances in the first half then we did all the game
Rosenoir has a long list that he needs to address. Otherwise we will in a relegation scrap.

I haven't checked yet, as half this rounds games are to be played tomorrow, but after game 16 we were 11 points and 2 better goal difference than last season, and not far off where Brownies lads were in 2007 at this point.

Still think we'll be mid table. And that will be progress. Think we need some stability and one or two key signings, with a fully fit squad we've got something to work towards, but 3 managers, 3 sets of instructions, 3 different preferred selections isn't going to help the new 16 gel at all. So yeah, mid table and stability please Rosie.

    <sorry>

I’m back. That was a bloody painful watch, well apart from the exciting 2 mins when we scored. Can’t do basics right, no movement, no cohesion, very pedestrian. Whatever momentum we had with the two wins has disappeared. I wish Rosie well, I hope he has a plan, he’s going to need a good one, ‘cos that looked like relegation fodder, big trouble when you lose to teams below you at the bottom.

It is harder to get into a game coming on when we are usually already behind or being pulled all over the place. As you have said he is more than good enough, just needs to be used properly in the right team/formation.

I don't understand the spate of people saying "It's only a game" - is it to be deliberately provocative or do they genuinely have no emotional attachment to City?

You tell yourself from sunny Sydney that standing on concrete against an iron bar under a corrugated iron roof you could see the sky through, in minus 3c having to brave the piss troughs, bovril served at 100c in a single ply thin plastic cup and watching us play more abysmally and get beat by far worse **** than today with 3.5 k others getting blown to ****, usually upwind from Vern - combining beer, BO disguised with brut, meat pie and embassy no1's week after week, year after year is no emotional attachment?

If you don't tell yourself 'it's only a game' then you don't go back and then have to do shopping, gardening and maybe even decorating with the other half instead of having a day out with your pals.

If some of us at various points in our history didn't say its only a game and keep going back there would be no club. At all.

    FACTAFUCKINGMUNDO.

Silverware. We don't care. Follow City. Everywhere.

It's love. It's always hopeful optimism. Never expectation but unconditional support.

    What the f’ck is going?

Shot shy again tonight with virtually no creativity or proper game plan but worse of all defending like a side still p!ssed from the night before. Chasing the game or not you simply cannot defend like that then start pointing fingers at each other… f’kin L2 or worse do that City.

    Rising Damp Rosenior…get it fixed.

Really was poor tonight. Defensively as fragile as ever. And going forward, we control the ball but have no idea how to create chances with it. Just really depressing at this point, we've lost a piss-takingly large number of home games over the last three and a half seasons and it just keeps going on. At this point I feel like whoever we play against it's always going to be a bouncing away end at full time, Mauled by the Whoever and all the rest of it. I'm beyond sick of seeing teams celebrate at our stadium, no matter how poor they are. Rosenior has a hell of a job on to sort this out.

It definitely worked playing him in the unfamiliar role against Blackpool and Rotherham but when you spring a surprise like Daw did back then, it's never a long term solution. Teams figure you out and realise that if you give Doc and Slater the ball in the wide areas, it's somewhat foreign to them and they don't do much with it.

I was shocked Pelkas was dropped, his end product needs sorting but he's generally at the core of our best play.

The performance wasn't anyway near as bad as I've seen people make out, we lacked dynamism but it's our fragility at the back that keeps killing us.

I'd be delighted if Rosenior stuck 11 behind the ball at Millwall and got us a 0 0 draw
