Correct on all counts and when I looked at his International record and thought wow that’s pretty good, when you compare him to another Spain striker David Villa you get masses of goals and a 60% strike rate and Norways Haaland has a 91% rate FFS

Think with rodders people need to understand that strikers all give the ball away. I thought he looked a threat on Saturday, we countered well with him - and yes some moves broke down because he gave the ball away - but the way we play, where the plan is to move the ball forward quickly and centrally, that’s going to happen. Everything happens at pace in tight spaces and the margins are small. But when it works it’s hard to stop. Rod is guilty of trying too much and sometimes at the wrong time and wrong place. I think as fans when we watch him play, we remember things like the stupid pass against Arsenal and so notice every mistake. Meanwhile our Duracell bunny aaronson does the same thing without reproach. On the Gnonto debate someone said he’s miles away from being a real Italy striker. Not true Roberto Mancini after not qualifying for the World Cup told the Italian media he was going to rebuild the Italian team and a lot of youngsters would be involved. For his strike department he said Raspadori was first choice, Scamaca second choice and Gnonto third choice. Gnonto will also play the role of secondary striker alongside Raspadori or Scamaca depending upon formation. So the kid needs taking seriously
You're probably referring to me, who pointed out the lengthy list of injuries to italy's top strikers. No one doubt's Willy's potential, just the endless comments that he has to play because he's Italy's 'striker' are maybe a bit misleading under the circumstances for an 18 year old whose other experience is largely as an impact sub (which he did very well by the way) in the swiss league. Marsch trusted him in what was a huge game, that was in the balance. That speaks volumes, but he chose to play him wide.
