We had nobody they needed to be afraid or wary of, we looked a bit leggy and predictable. As others have posted Tetteh and Allahyar would have given them something to think about.
Although we created little we did have a number of good spells when they were under the cosh and starting to panic. A couple of pretty good chances too - Longman colliding with post and Pelkas header into ground. Pretty good effort but Blackburn had done their homework and nullified Seri and Woods.
Certainly an improvement over recent home games but still some work needed. I felt sorry for Christie who made several really good runs into space on the right but was rarely spotted in the second half.
Unlike our last few home defeats I don't feel quite as depressed after that, played alright, not outclassed by any means, plenty to work with at city
We are decent at passing with the new guys but we lost nearly all the physical stuff and they sussed us . Waited for us to high pressure at the start - we didn’t today. then they hit our back line with long balls to decent forwards . Our lack of strength and height didn’t help today . Caveat is that many teams in this league will be weaker than Blackburn
We didn't even get a free kick for a two footed studs up lunge that got a little bit of the ball. Looked a potential red card on the screen.
I think Fleming needs to start next game. He looked a bit ring-rusty to me today but he was getting into the right positions and trying to do the right thing. Not sure how it would work if Elder's fit though.
Thought the ref was bab. Gave them a lot of decisions that should have been play on and blew up on challenges we made that looked 50/50. Like a 70s porn mag, we lacked any penetration. Longman was marshalled out of the game but Estupiñán didn't fare any better. We kept going and stayed in the game against one of the better Championship sides. On the hour mark Blackburn went all Steve Bruce and resorted to defending their one nil lead with no ambition to add to it. A testament to the fact that we were giving it a real go albeit in that Razzle and Fiesta way already referenced. Fleming improved our attacking significantly. Everyone looked up for it. No disinterested parties in a black and amber shirt today. A defeat but one of those that hasn't ruined my weekend. UTT.
Hull interim boss Andy Dawson told BBC Radio Humberside: "I was disappointed with the first half - we showed them too much respect, we certainly weren't aggressive enough. "I think the one thing we've done really impressively recently is keep the ball and I think we turned it over too cheaply. That's the last thing you want to be doing against a possession-based team. "We had a real good go second half and we created a couple of brilliant chances but they're the small margins - we came up against a really a good team today." Blackburn Rovers head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I think it was well deserved - big credit to the players. "We got the tactics right in the first half, controlled the game and scored a great goal - we should've scored more and killed the game before half-time. "It was a great win and a good performance."
I thought we did alright overall. We battled well, just struggled to create against what was back 6 at times. I really like the look of Pelkas, he stood out every time he got the ball. We just need to find a way to get him on it more. I wish we were half as good as them at game management. They rolled on the floor after every 50/50 and whilst a physio never came on it wasted 30/40 seconds every time.
Spoke to Seri after the game as he was getting in his car. Asked if he was OK after a fairly physical outing. He said "Yeh sure". Also saw Allahyar and Tetteh, both mobile without crutches
They doubled up on Seri and negated his creativity, no surprise he was hooked as Tufan is more mobile. Fleming looks like a sure fire starter for Tuesday. I’d start him ahead of Pelkas.
