Sorry to hear about your sister in law's situation. I keep hearing really similar stories to this. Anyone else fearful that we're about to go through [or have started to through] a period much more painful than the early 2010s? I feel like there is less fat to cut from household budgets, house prices forecast to go down quite fast next year, interest rate rises only just starting to bite and will go up yet again, inflation rampant and no sign of it slowing, energy costs, public services demanding more money, but the budget deficit seemingly bigger than ever, pound very weak, international trade hit hard, cracks starting to appear in the 'jobs miracle' etc etc. I'm starting to genuinely fear that we'll go through a 'major economic reset' that could hurt a lot of people. Edit - I'd be interested to see if household debts are in a better place than 2010s too. I fear not.
That sums it up well. Feels like we're on the edge of a precipice, alongside Europe and most of the rest of the world
The clocks are going back this weekend. With a bit of luck, they'll go back to 2016 before this country lost its ****ing mind.
