It's may be out of vogue but guess what, if you get crosses into the box you actually score goals, especially if your teammates know the cross is coming. Far too much tippy tappy stuff in the middle and out wide from us at the moment.
Afternoon all, The position we find ourselves in right now reminds me greatly of the situation just before bielsa took over. We have a lot of individually good players. We see the good, sometimes brilliant, ability they have in flashes but ultimately the team as a whole is badly managed and they are blunted. A new coach needs to find a way to get these good individuals to play as a team. The team tactics are where we are struggling at the moment. The current tactics are stopping our better players doing what they do best. With no width you've already lost so much of Harrisons, Sinisteeras & Summervilles strengths. By trying to make everything go through the middle we are so easy to defend against. Most balls are dealt with out the ones that get through are often behind the forward making them waste chances.
word is the long-suffering Sharon has done a u turn and says Colin can have one last go at management… when pressed about the change of heart she said “… I’m fine with anything that keeps the twat out of my way’
Well they do say it’s no money and lack of quality players that defines his hoofball - there may be some truth in that. Gotta disagree about their 2016 promotion winning side though. They were top scorers (in a low scoring year), but when I saw them - it was ‘functional’ football. Now if, as some think, our playing squad is talent-laden - maybe that’s all we need…
Yeh sorry about that but as I'm in Italy until the 27th it needed to be changed. Hope it hasn't spoiled anyones xmas plans.
We actually have a squad quite well suited to play 4-4-2 but I've no idea if Dyche would continue down that route. How many times have posters wished for Gelhardt & Bamford up front together, or we have Ngonto and Rodders who could play in a two up top. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth I say and get the fella onboard before it's too late.
of we had a left back and 1 striker never mind two who could hit a barn door with a banjo, we could play 442. Though if we had them we could play a multitude of formations. Not saying he couldn’t keep us up… just that it wouldn’t be pretty!
Maybe, maybe not but the ER crowd love to see full commitment and a strong robust side full of endeavour would go down well you would have thought ? As long as results are favourable of course.
smart thinking.. in the meantime if he learns to recount philosophy in a foreign language for his post match interviews, watches matches from the technical area while perched on a tropical fish tank, changes his name to seanelo dychia and rents a bed sit above a chippy in chapeltown… they’ll learn to love him.
