Remember that game - bought a meat pie just as the game started - it was still hot at half time !! Glyn Hodges was amazing that night
Willing to admit I wouldn't have started Greaves at LB yesterday as thought he was a bit weak defensively in previous 2 games. He was obviously great going forward yesterday (only seen the brilliant highlights) but how did he do as a defender? Maybe he wasn't stretched?
Thats it, he played really well and was able to focus on attacking for the most part. If up against a pacy winger thats told to target that area he would get exposed. Its a shame he doesn't have a bit more pace as he could have made a great LB. Shows the ability he has though and as he develops with age and experience he will be an excellent CB.
Everyone has to start somewhere. Having no/little experience does not mean they won’t be good. It could be considered the safer option I suppose, but after the recent performances it would be very harsh. I think it should be reviewed at the start of the international break.
Useless git, I won't mention me backing into a phone box after that 'famous' night match at Ninian Park. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I like the idea of 4 6’ plus back four players ,the opposition shouldn’t be able to get far post balls over the backs heads hopefully like we’ve seen earlier in the season.
In fairness he seemed to have his eyes fixed on goal and didn't look across. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
My views are on both occasions inc the one where he headed straight for goal he didn’t look up or across at all - it would improve his game if he could
Any pacer winger would not stand a chance against Greaves he would have the shirt pulled off his back every time he tried to go by him.
Christie played well but was sleeping for their second, allowing Eaves (I know!) in behind to cross. Doc gave him a mouthful I think.
Stood Andy Dawson in good stead in his last couple of seasons, although to be fair Dawson just wrapped his arms around opposition players. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I nearly left at 5-1 - we were dire in utterly dire times. Think Dewhurst nearly equalised right at the end too. Yeh, Millmoor away end was class when it was terracing.
He did very well yesterday against a top talent in Brooke Norton Cuffy who eats full backs alive at this level and will likely be playing premier league football next season
