Denis Nielsen would get my vote, based entirely on the "fact" that "it would have been worse under Peter Sutcliffe" <laugh>

'The unthinkable is always possible' <laugh>

People being vox popped by the BBC this morning saying 'Well I'd vote for Penny', using her first name and doing that smile with their heads slightly tilted. FFS man, these people have absolutely no idea what her policies are, what backing she has or which/how many ex-PMs she's backed or attacked.

The news reminds of how Victorians paid to look at the loonies through the windows of the asylum ...

... only, in this case, its hard to know who's who.

He is a Quisling if ever their was one, we will never know who set him up to be leader of the opposition, but far better candidates than Starmer and his No 2 were and still are available. Personally I will vote Green until he is replaced , then I may re-consider, as has been said so well on here by others , we need more than the two choices we are offered , this musical chairs farce is Democracy in name only.

For the new to be PM, i would love to have Boris back again, As someone who is nowhere near guiltless i can forgive him for his past failings in the hope he will change He is someone who gets things done .But i fear there are too many people out there who will not give him a second chance. Alternatives, labour with Starmer and Rayner i could never go for.
Lib dimwits No ,as for the greens and whatever others well they are there to fill the ballot paper.
So in my mind its either Sunak or Mordaunt, Sunak for his chancellor experience or Mordaunt i feel is nearest to the common people.
For the sake of the country let the best man/woman win.

Yes, mainly the Tory cabinet and MPs who were either sacked, resigned or kicked him out ...

... not to mention people who couldn't be with dying relatives while he was partying in Downing Street, etc.

Far too soon for Bonko. The memory of the Queen sitting alone at her husband’s funeral, obeying the covid rules is still fresh. Bonko was having a drinks party the night before. Hard to forgive and something for which he will be shredded for some time yet. It’s a pretty stupid system if he can be even considered a candidate.

It's like when people jump in saying they want Keane/Allardyce/Reid back tbh ...

... knee jerk, sentimental and you'd have to change all the backroom staff <laugh>

So you'll give Boris Johnson a second chance after failing and forgive his mistakes, but you won't give any leader of another party even one chance?

What about his character makes you think he can or will change? He didn't just make one mistake, he made many, repeatedly and lied about them, both when he was pm and in decades of public life before that.

Voting him back in is madness, but thinking that he might change is absolutely delusional.

They are like the lovestruck wife whose husband batters her or keeps dipping his wick elsewhere. They believe he will change "this time" :emoticon-0102-bigsm

From the BBC, describing the process of selecting a replacement for Truss.

I sincerely hope that they don't plan on televising this part. <yikes>
