I really like Carvalho. Similar to Harvey, he doesn't shy away from the ball. He wants it and trusts his ability. I think he would suit the second striker / number 10 role well. He's good at getting into the box and can definitely score some goals.

Late to the party but everyone knows how much I love Fab but he was absolute dog sh*t vs West Ham. That LCM role in a double pivot did not suit him at all. He needs Thiago or even Naby next to him.

Fabinho was much better v city. I honestly think he's come on in games and not got to the pitch of the game.

I hope we can get Naby up and running
I fear his time with us is over though

Be that as it may, what we have missed a lot of this season is a goal scorer.

We would probably be higher up the table if we had Haaland instead of Darwin. (This season). Long term Darwin might prove the better buy, but we would have won more games in the early part of the season if we had Haaland.

(But that is ignoring wages and other costs which we might or might not have been able to afford)

This presumes that he would have scored the same amount of goals for us as he has for city. It ain't necessarily so. It would require the right players assisting him in the same way because he's not creating the chances himself.

I disagree, having a centre forward stood in the 6 yard area tapping the ball in is great for City, but I doubt he'd get the same opportunity with us.

If he'd played centre back fir the first few games I think he'd have helped out though.

That cross from tsimkas was the first headed chance I've seen nunez have

We are not built to load it in.

It is one that we score a few from with jota and mane in the past but a lot of times it's from deeper crosses

He'd have scored more but Nunez is a typical Liverpool player; offers a lot more than you'd expect for a particular position.

It's pointless even considering a line-up with him in because he's so unreliable.

I don't think he would have scored as many as he has. But he wouldn't need to have. Half the number of goals and it would have won us points.

Do you honestly think Klopp would have let him just stand in the 6 yard area? Whereas, I agree Darwin is more of a Klopp style player, and Haaland would never be as mobile as Darwin is, he is what we needed, especially early on when Darwin was missing three games for that childish headbutt.

I believe Darwin will get better as time goes on, and may or may not be better than Haaland long term, but no doubt in my mind, at this stage of the season we would have had more points if we had got Haaland instead. Long term though, who knows. Financially he wasn't an option so maybe a bit of a pointless discussion.

He may be being used as a poacher and not currently contributing much else, but thats because that's how Pep plays him, doesn't mean that's all he can do. Not every poacher can tear up the record books, even if they do have ten city players behind them and city haven't topped the golden boot table in other years.

The team behind him may be a large part of his success, but to dismiss him as an untalented poacher, as some appear to be, is just blind tribalism.

I dont think I dismissed him at all to be fair, I have pointed out that most of his goals have been tap ins, but that's a quality in itself.

I have questioned his benefit for City, they scored alot anyway do does winning 4 or 6 nil really make a difference?

His worth will be shown in the tight games against the best defenders, he's not shown alot in that regard, but its early days.

Other than being brilliant player and it stops someone like Madrid/Barca/United/psg signing him. He’s essentially been brought in to make the difference in those later stages of the CL. With him in the team they’d have beaten madrid last season as Grealish and sterling missed glorious chances to put the game to bed.

I again disagree, you can't rerun a game with different players, it would be completely different.

So far city have had 2 really tough games, both us, and he was nowhere. Even with our shaky defence.

Again I'm not saying he's ****e, but I don't think he's anywhere near the level that people think he is.

Different now though, they consistently put 4,5 and 6 past teams. 1 season is an aberration.
