'Head of performance strategy' leaves a lot of room for interpretation, but sounds like he's heading up scouting and analysis to me.
Adam Pearson was not a David Lloyd situation at all. Pearson came from a football background, he knew the club and had worked in the city. His own investment was very minimal too. Lloyd was new to football, knew nothing of Hull City, or Hull, and came here with big ideas with his own 'big name' manager, who also knew nothing of our club and the league we were in. I believe Lloyd's intentions were honourable but the job was too big for him, and he got his fingers burnt. That is exactly the situation, I, and I presume most people on here, do not want to see a repeat of.
Every owner is different. Just because some have failed doesn't mean that others will. Judging Acun on his own actions as opposed to his predecessors is surely a courtesy any new owner deserves? And if he ****s up its his money and his reputation. The club will survive as it has in the past. The one with most to lose from failure is the owner himself.
Looks like we are heading down the Brighton Rd. And I for one welcome this. Since as I was often taught in my working career "the data sets you free" Someone on this forum said the title is open to interpretation and could as well as analysis include scouting. Here is one definiton What is Performance Analysis? Performance analysis is an emerging discipline in football. It uses data science and technological tools to evaluate the performance of players in an objective way. Although it relies primarily on quantitative data, performance analysis also draws on more qualitative methods, such as video analysis of tactics and formations. The aim of performance analysis is to provide an overarching assessment of performance to help develop an understanding of actions that can inform the decision-making process. Analysis is undertaken to optimize performance, support the coaching process, improve player performance and help deliver tactical insights to help win football matches. Opposition analysis is based around the same principles but focusses on the identification of opposition strengths, weaknesses and tactical approach. Analysis is simply another extension to the coaching arm. Think there was a dscussion about one of the parameters not sure exacty what it was but it was something that was essentially "goal scoring opportunities spurned". In our case I would be more interested at the moment about goal scoring opportunites created since we seem to create little. However on the bright side in our last game one player did created 2 chances whose perfomance on here was derided by some-Pelkas. With this appointment think we are heading down the right path. Lets hope he is good at his job.
I've been sat on the sidelines just reading this thread lately...my god..what a load of panty wetting, negative ninny muggins you are. I even saw one post comparing acun to the allams...ffs get a grip..results are bad I get it..we need a manager I get it...but holy fcuk....just listen to yourselves...I would rather be where we are now than where we were 18 months ago. Sorry for the rant but people need to remember the last few years.
Let's hope it ultimately ends up a win win scenario not a lose lose one then. He loses most if it ends badly.
Anyone know where Acun is going right now? Thought he was on his way to Blackpool but he passed it and flew over Scotland... Had an awful feeling he was going to meet up with Neil Lennon.. luckily he's now passed Scotland, but where's he off to?
