In terms of orthodox right backs the only one who might be above KWP is Justin from Leicester. Which seems absurd but neither have been in great form this year.

But there is also Ben White who has been playing there for Arsenal who might have been on the borderline of the squad in CB and go instead because of this? Or Joe Gomez

Given TAA and Walker will likely be "fit" both will probably go. I deliberately used the inverted commas as it seems like Walker is going to be the standard player we always take who is definitely not fit but we take anyway and either cannot use at all or we use once and it costs us. Seems to happen fairly often with England.

It's mildly amusing that he might be forced to take TAA after all.

He'll play Trippier ahead of him though, which I'm not entirely against.

My guess is that Southgate would have wanted to select Walker, James and Trippier.

I also guess that he'll see White as Walker's replacement (if needed) and Trent as James' replacement (if needed).

So I think KWP is still at least one more injury away yet (assuming that Trent's current injury is only minor), even if Walker and James were to both miss out.

KWP can provide left back cover to. It's something for Southgate to consider probably not for long though.

Sutton away. Annoyingly not local and not a home fixture.

Portsmouth got Hereford away, which is about equal journey time by train. Not sure which, if either, match to go to. Though I don't really want to be in the depths of London after dark

10 matches into the season and the leader of the Bundesliga is still Union Berlin, a club that only reached the top tier for the first time in its current incarnation in 2019, and whose last-known wage bill was 11% that of Bayern Munich.

In other Union Berlin news, the club president is named Dirk Zingler, which is an objectively good name. The club president was also a member of an elite unit in the East German Stasi, which is an objectively bad thing to have been even if you are named Dirk Zingler. Can't win them all.

Eastleigh away to Boreham Wood in round 1 of the FA Cup proper.
Could be tough given that Boreham beat Bompey in the 4th round of the same competition in February this year.

Well, looks like I won't be going to either Portsmouth or Farnborough away in the fa cup because of train strikes on the 5th

To paraphrase Samuel L Jackson, I've had it with these motherfucking strikes in this motherfucking country

Sadly (and I know I’m bringing politics into the wrong thread) it’s the only way of getting the government and management to understand that they cannot dictate ridiculous terms to the workers. Without these strikes (and we should be getting behind them, not complaining) this country is likely to descend into an even more desperate place …….

If you think workers striking is the worst thing about this country at the moment you have misplaced your senses.

I never said I think that, but my views on the rest of what's happening in this country are irrelevant to a thread about football. I'm just tired of the strikes, regardless of who is to blame. I just want them resolved now so I can go to football matches

Well, his shooting has improved, tested the Keeper with a stinging shot from outside the box.
Nearly an assist with a lovely pass too.
I know it's a level below but he looks like a totally different player.

Burnley playing some nice fast attacking football under Kompany, I could see them coming back up,

I'm having difficulty looking at Gunn's worried look without major flashbacks to that game.
But yes, Tella seems more interested here than he did with us.
