Could say the same about Scotland, and Ireland, Wales, in fact every team in this micky mouse competition which will be won, as usual by the Aussies.
And someone said, 'why watch it then?'.
The publicly funded BBC, who welched on broadcasting Test Match Cricket and have been outbid to show live England Rugby Union games have chosen to show over 60 games of this very minority sport over the next five weeks and are plugging it at every opportunity.
All I can say is it must come cheap.

I remember an over excited Gollum declare that it was a sign of the strength of rugby league in the British Isles that not only England but Scotland, Ireland and Wales were in the top 10 ranked countries. I sent a text to Sportstalk saying they could do a competition with prizes for anyone who could name the league champions or cup holders for any of those countries. It wouldn’t cost them anything so they would be safe. In fact it would be doubtful if the had to pay out for anyone even naming a club. Didn’t get taken an further for some reason.

HDM reporting that tickets for the World Cup game in Hull are priced £25-84. Well, good luck with those <doh>

Yes pricing shocking for the games. The england games will be well supported but apart from that the attendances will be poor. Jamaica Ireland at headingley would have sold out at Brentford’s ground or Wimbledons.

Just checked on the ticket site, and to sit in my seat for the New Zealand v Jamaica game (which could be 100 points!) it would be £50!!

If the Rugby League World Cup is of no interest to you, then can you just ignore this thread, rather than attempting to **** it up?

Why is making an observation about ticket prices attempting to **** it up?
Will you be following your own advice and not commenting on threads that don’t interest you?

I already don't comment on threads that don't interest me, that's why I don't post on the cricket thread, or the betting thread etc.

You've got eleven posts on here so far, on a topic you apparently have no interest in, why bother?

I am commenting on the deluded thoughts of some, especially the HDM who big up rugby league in Hull. Then there are problems selling tickets in the rugby capital of Hull. Rugby fans aren’t spending money on their teams at the. Moment so should have some left for a World Cup. Is it Hull Fair, cost of living crisis, inconvenient kick off time, half term holidays coming up? We were told people would be flocking into Hull in a massive boost to the local economy so they shouldn’t have to shift that many in Hull.

Remember this well when Rovers was playing the visiting Queenslanders and they was getting away with dirty play the whole game. The ref had lost control of the game until this happened. Nice one Broadhurst.

Good game between Tonga and PNG tonight, Tonga took it 24-18. Hard to guess what the crowd was but there were a decent few there in the parts the cameras were covering.

Why are the tickets so expensive ? From what I've seen the crowds are very small but at that price
    I'm not really surprised

Not sure. They've said they've kept the prices the same as was released in 2020 prior to it being postponed, but a lot has happened since then. Its a shame, as I've watched every game so far, and it's been great, especially tonight's. Going to try and get to a few as tournament progresses

"The Rugby League World Cup 2021 Cultural Festival has commissioned a show featuring dance, music and aerial performance."

I do hope they don't have any of those long wafty ones that were popular on transits back in the day.

If it goes wrong, someone could end up suffering from a nasty van aerial disease. :emoticon-0169-dance:emoticon-0170-ninja:emoticon-0169-dance
