Might sound daft but I think I would prefer another season or two rebuilding so when we do go up we stay there. Alternatively if there is a plan to invest heavily (if allowed) then yes I would like us to go for promotion and risk it.
Pretty sure Southampton did back to back promotions? They kept the core of players and only added quality additions. So far we are doing the same. Anything is possible in this league.
If we could make promotion we would get into to the parachute payments I don't know if KLD will pump money in But what ever happens we will get more money
Well I didn’t see that turnaround happening on Saturday so what do I know - feck all!! Pleased that it worked out for TM - hee needed it IMHO. Play like we did in the 2nd half and I see another 1-2 win. Bart
A great thread as always RTB. I am quietly confident for tomorrow. They will be quite open which suits us. I thought the second half on Saturday was very very good. Roberts looked unplayable and Pritchard looked rejuvinated. Evans coming back in will be massive for us I think. Embo or Neil alongside him will be the dilema I think for the gaffer. I thought Neil showed good maturity on Saturday, being the more disciplined player and letting Embo push on. I hope Neil gets the nod because him and Evans together looks tailor made to me as a 2, but it would be harsh on Embo as I thought he kept making things happen. I do think he has to play as a 10 though. Decisions decisions... nice place to be for us isnt it. Diallo pushing for a spot too, but where do you fit him in, or is he better as an impact sub currently? Pleased it is Mowbray plotting things, he is doing a good job so far for me.
Someone asked Speakman at the recent business talk in if we would 'do a Forest' if we went up and the answer was no. We have our plan and will stick to it.
Agree about Roberts. Thought his reaction after gerring a couple of clatterings was brilliant- what a response! More please.
Got to agree with him there. Forest have gambled the lot on staying up this season and if they fail they will need more than parachute payments to help them
Some of those runs he made on Saturday were ridiculous. If he can add an end product on a regular basis then he's going to be a very dangerous weapon in this league. His sheer presence on the pitch is going to free up space for players like Clarke and Pritch as teams will start doubling up on him
Isn't it great when you actually look forward to every game ... ... even when things don't click you feel everyone's trying and we play good football with interesting players. The supporters believe, I'd say, that we're capable of beating anyone and haven't had the kind of heavy defeat promoted sides can suffer. It's wonderful, conversley, that we now have to leave good players out and have intriguing options, especially when the injured are back. I'm going for a Sunderland win based solely on the principle of 'why not' ... ... Pritchard free kick in the first five minutes and a Clarke breakaway in the last five, good luck to everyone going.
None of them? Maybe Cirkin, but who else would a PL club gamble on? Stewart possibly, depending on how the 2nd half of the season goes I wouldn't be a fearful about losing players should we finish midtable compared to the exodus that would have happened had we not got promoted
