Taylor persistently failed to give fouls against Salah but blew up as soon as a City players flopped to the ground…..I'm convinced that he didn’t want to cancel the goal but had no choice when he was called to view it. Utterly shocking refereeing and for Pep to moan about him only makes it a bigger farce. The right team won today
Perhaps they thought he needed a bit more cash for some new players. Seriously, that sort of thing is unacceptable if it's true, along with the City chanting and graffiti. It's no wonder that people who don't get football think it's the province of savages.
tbh, I hadn’t realised the other two were back. Good for the squad but Jota just started to get his fitness and is a big loss imo.
Prem have supposedly confirmed the goal wouldn't have stood if foul on fab hadn't been given because of foul on Alisson. please log in to view this image
I'm generally with saint on this. I was optimistic prior to the game, but not confident. That was a splendid performance to a man and a well-deserved win. The ref was a disgrace as we all suspected he would be. Commentators and presentation team massively biased. I was ranting and raving when the save on Salah's shot was given as a dead ball and they then go and score. Thank **** that got put right. I truly now hope we can build on that going forward before the abortion of the **** in the middle east.
I think we all owe a certain Sir James Milner our truly humble apologies oh and huge thanks to a certain Pep Guardiola for appearing to instruct his team to under no circumstances run at Milner .
What a performance from everyone! We showed quality in all areas (the attack could have been more refined but they still did a job). Defensively, this was the Liverpool of 18-20. We have let teams walk through us all season but last night was the first time we actually had some proper structure AND the players actually played to their normal standards. Thiago and Fabinho as the double pivot needs to be starting mid now. They have the intelligence and nous to block passing lanes and channels. It was scrappy but they played a big part in providing that protection. But the back line - wow. Milner put in his best performance in years. Credit to him because a lot of YOU doubted him. Robbo full of energy, VVD was just imperious and this was the VVD of old. But massive shoutout to Joe - I was worried that we had seen the best of Joe already but he turned in his best performance in years. The attack all put in a shift as well. Jota and Bobby lacked the quality on the ball but they pressed and pressed like beasts. Elliot is made for the big stage and he will only get better. He does not shy away. And Mo ... the spearhead. I'm still angry that the club thought it would be good idea to take our biggest goal threat and stick him on the wing and away from the goal. Finally the penny dropped and now we're putting him closer to the goal. And he caused havoc. Everyone talks about Haaland's strength but look at Mo - the defenders were bouncing off him! Let's just hope that Klopp now sticks with this system and the players continue to put in that level of intensity.
so how many goals should we have gotten. 4 or 5? salah hat trick of actual changes and 1 nunez failed to pass which was an open goal. jota 2. robertson shot.
don't think that is strictly true rather even if Taylor hadn't changed his mind over Haaland shirt pull he would still have been told to look at the foul on Allisson but fail to see how they can be sure he would have changed his mind on that one .
