It happens in every single game up and down the country amateur and professional. How many actually get penalised? Not many, which is why it’s unlucky.
I thought the first half was as good as we have played for long while. What kind of team talk was given by the manager at half time for us to come out and be so poor in the second half.
It’s not like it’s a new thing he’s started doing, he was doing it in L1 week in, week out, he’s been punished for it maybe 4 or 5 times with a penalty since he’s been playing for us. Jones is more of a pusher than a puller or grabber which unfortunately Greaves is.
It does, but the more experienced players are a lot more cleaver with it ( hopefully that makes sense, I didn't know how else to describe it ) greaves is very obvious with it
Thought Jarvis looked sharp when he came on, and along with Docherty and probably Pelkas were our best, but just too many passengers and the same issues every game.
He's had a bad few games mate, he needs taking out of the team. Longman had two or three shockers, was dropped. Figueredo, dropped. Ingram, dropped. He needs to learn, vice captain or not that he is not untouchable.
Isn't putting your arms around another player just as much of a foul as shirt pulling or is that allowed ? By the rules the Greaves one was a penalty , but then you'd get about 5 or 6 penalties every game. After this the referee warned players so where is the consistency ?
Probably right. I’ve watched the incident a few times on the sky highlights, it still looks pretty innocuous to me. Birmingham player making a meal of it.
I honestly wouldn’t know what team to select from the collection of players we’ve assembled, to try and mitigate our defensive naivety or our attacking impotence. It’s a mess and our recruitment so far has been an absolute disaster. Docherty has surely guaranteed a starting role in the next few games at least. I’d even throw Andy Cannon a squad number, he can’t be any worse in midfield than some of our current players.
Wouldn’t it make logical sense for Dawson to realise that our style of play isn’t working and completely change it?
I think it always looks worse (and is more likely to be penalised) when the pull happens after the attacker has got away from his marker, as opposed to it being used to prevent the attacker from getting away in the first place. Greaves, and City in general, are always losing our men and can't win headers, so we do a lot of the former variety.
Here’s another thought, Greaves was meant to be picking Harvey Dean? Their best header of a ball. Greaves obviously poor at defending corners at the minute give Fig him give Greaves a smaller guy. Not ideal but it’s managing the game.
Here's another one - perhaps our defenders could concentrate on clearing the ball as opposed to pulling the shirt off our opponents back
maybe it’s up to the manager to not put pressure on the player to mark the man and instead concentrate on heading the ball. Man marking from corners isn’t working, hasn’t done all year.
We have no outlet out wide at all. Everything goes through the middle. But yeh I know what you mean, their back line was so high up the pitch is was a joke, again no pace upfront or running off Estupinan.
For me today was the first time we actually played through the middle and didn't just aimlessly cross it into the box at every opportunity.
