This is far more wholesome content…even if Tino and Romeo seem to be struggling with the concept of rock, paper, scissors.
I don't know why people are getting upset about it to be honest. The only half decent player we signed this summer was ABK (which if memory serves correctly was before shields) The rest have been pretty ****. We're losing bugger all by him going.
And now it transpires that he came after our signings anyway. If anything he was more helpful being at city and pushing the players from the other end. I would say if there was one player that was down to him it would be Larios as he was a city youngster, signed late and with no prior links at all in the summer There are people out there crediting him for “buildings our team”. Mind blowing really
Don't spoil a mad rant with facts, Chilcs! (Although I do agree we're not necessarily losing much by losing him).
Note that I posted it because I found it funny. I assumed it was taken out of context (because pretty much all quotes are)
Christ Lincoln. i get your problem with the manager but the slagging off of young new signings makes no sense at all. we havent signed a single bad player, not one. theyre not even obscure, top talent that just needs a chance and some patience. not even half decent? utterly wide of the mark.
And if it were true then really Ralph would surely deserve more sympathy? Working with such a bad squad and all. Can both be true ? All our signings were crap and our squad is rubbish but also Ralph should be doing better than having us around the relegation zone? I’d suggest not really …
Depends who is accountable for the transfer policy I guess. The club are pretty smart to keep our transfer policy hidden. We can’t blame one particular person when/if it fails
Apart from ABK and maybe Lavia, who in our squad would walk in to any of the top 15 clubs starting XI? I get they're young and therefore we're not supposed to criticise them etc but they're not exactly pulling up trees are they? Bazunu hasn't kept a single clean sheet, Edozie looks like he's going to be a bit part player at best and AMN didn't impress. Mara will barely play at all. Do you honestly think we haven't signed a single bad player?
I think it's a bit early to be calling any of them bad signings. You'd have booted Mané and Thierry Henry out by now by that measurement.
Maybe you're right. Maybe they're great playing in a stupid system. Maybe Ralph's a great manager and all the players are simply ****. Who knows anymore. Its all a bit boring
It's far too early for anyone to pass any sort of comment (good or bad) on Caleta-Car, Mara, Edozie, Maitland-Niles and Larios. They haven't yet played enough. I do think it's fair to begin to pass comment on Lavia, Bazunu, Aribo and ABK. But even then, it should only be a very limited, caveated and provisional view. Nothing concrete enough to say good signing or bad signing. Mane looked nothing special until December of his first season. On the slip side, just one month into signing Djenepo it looked like we'd struck gold again. Early impressions, good or bad, can be very false. (For what it's worth, I really like Lavia and ABK so far. Aribo seems to have good footwork and be comfortable around the penalty box but needs to either work harder off the ball or be used in a different system. Bazunu I'm slightly concerned about. But hopefully that concern will disappear over the coming months.)
I still have vague recollection of some of the things written about Mane up to that December. Was it a league cup match against someone like Sheffield United? People were basically comparing him to Ali Dia
yeah this. get rid of a **** manager (not my opinion) so that a good manager can what, magically win games with bad players? Its not so much the incessant negativity as it is the sheer lack of consideration. its throwing **** everywhere because theres a bad smell you cant locate.
