Came away before the end. Reading were the better side tbh. Stronger, quicker and played the better football. Was impressed with Murty on the sidelines. There was once in the first half where our 2 CHs were looking very nervous and Carney went long with a kick out. Next break in play Murty shouted Carney over and told him to keep playing it to the CHs to play out to get them on the ball more to build there confidence.
He turned to the fans around the dugout a few times and had a bit of banter. Always encouraged the lads. One other thing I noticed was that he wasn't just shouting at them telling them what to do or where to stand, he was asking them things like 'what's the problem here and 'how do we fix it'. It was more like getting them to identify and solve the problems themselves rather than just shout, for example, 'Max Thompson, mark number 6'
Happy to read this. Results don’t matter at any level other than the first team, its all about developing players for that level
Wins would be nice but developing them as players has the be the priority saying that if you can do that wins should follow
He's only been here 5 minutes, results will come. Developing the players is more important than results
Academy football isn’t a results business, as long as the players are developed and prepared for the 1st team it really doesn’t matter if they win or lose
