There's no chance of a GE, because it's down to the Tories and they won't call one. If Sunak came in to give markets confidence, things could look different quickly imo.

Truss's press conference today was awful. Even Boris would have hung around and answered press questions. If she had any respect, she'd resign.

F*ck me, what a sh1tshow...... Looking in from the outside Truss is toast, the only way out is a GE and then the UK will get what it deserves, a Starmer pupet government with the strings pulled by the Unions and his left wing sidekick Rainer......

Good Luck as you'll need it......

It's got nothing to do with respect, it's survival. Many would lose their jobs. They have 2 years or so to turn things around.

They’ll cling on with their cold, dead hands as long as they can. Plenty of time to turn the shy Tories around.

I'll remind you of that the next time there are mass redundancies in industry. People have mortgages to pay.

Wait, what? I'm supposed to be concerned about whether Tory MPs can afford their mortgages? They don't give a **** about the finances of ordinary people.

    **** them.

Just be consistent. You wouldn't expect the working person to give up their job if their boss ****ed up. The boss should go, they didn't even want Truss.

Even if the Tories steady the ship, or even if Labour get in, interest rates and mortgages are going up because we're heading for a worldwide recession after years of printing extra money.

Well, however much of a mess today was, I am very pleased for Jeremy Hunt. I've met him a few times over the years, and always found him to be very bright and engaged. I think he was an excellent Health Secretary and a good Foreign Sec for the short time he held the brief - one of the few remaining big beasts in the Tory Party to my mind. He's pragmatic enough to listen to the experts and politically savvy enough not to try and announce something major (like the 45p tax cut) without rolling the pitch. I think he'll do a good job of steadying the ship, and if Truss is sensible (I know, I know) she'll let him take a strong lead on many of the domestic issues, while she focuses on foreign affairs where she is more comfortable - in the Brown/Blair model. I wish him all the best in the role - we all should.

Let's hope he does better with the economy than he did with the NHS.

    Can't stand the bloke.
I'll never forget all those false tears when he was running for leader.
