    Competition - Sky Bet Championship
    Venue - Turf Moor
    Date - 15 October 2022
    Kick off - 3:00pm

Following their hard fought home victory against Sunderland, next up for Russell Martin’s improving Swansea squad, is a hard looking trip to Turf Moor to take on Burnley, who, like the Swans sit currently in one of the Play-Off places.

Last Saturday, for the first time under Russell Martin, the Swans secured a fourth successive win in the Championship as they held off a spirited Sunderland fightback.

Ollie Cooper's first goal of the season gave the Swans the lead on 13 minutes as his deflected effort found the net.

Recalled defender Harry Darling doubled the advantage when he poked home a second in first-half stoppage time.

Jack Clarke's fine run and finish gave the visitors hope, but the Swans held firm despite the visitors being the better side after the break.

The Swans remain in the Championship play-off spots after collecting 12 points from the last 12 on offer, while the Black Cats fall to 12th place despite a spirited second-half display that almost saw them claim a share of the spoils.

Whilst the Swans were beating Sunderland, Nathan Tella scored the only goal of the game to see Burnley move back to within striking distance of the Championship's top two and left Coventry six points from safety at the bottom.

The Clarets striker, on loan from Southampton, did brilliantly to run on to Josh Cullen's pass over the top of the Sky Blues' defence, control instantly and fire a volley from an acute angle in off the far post after 39 minutes.

That was Tella's fifth of the season and ended a frustrating run for Vincent Kompany's side, who had seen four of their previous five games end 1-1, the last two because of late equalisers.

As a consequence, Burnley sit in 4th place, 2 places above the Swans.

The Swans have played Burnley on 48 previous occasions, winning 17, losing 18 and drawing 13.

It is almost 5 years since the Swans travelled to Turf Moor, when they lost 2-0 in a Premier League match:

Turning to Saturday, arguably this is the Swans’ most difficult fixture so far this season.

However, the Swans will be taking on Vincent Kompany’s side when they are in the best run under Russell Martin’s tenure.

I think that the Swans are more than capable of coming back with at least a point .

    I’m going for a 1-1 draw.<cheers>

I hate "Claret and blue" kits.

I'm continuing with not expecting anything from this game since that seems to be working.

Our bubble has to burst sometime.

a tough month Burnley, Reading both in form and Bristol and Cardiff, anything could happen in those games.

Four out of Burnley's last six games have ended 1-1 and that seems like a decent shout for this one also.

We should now be where I've got my over-optimism back

I too would be delighted with a draw however.

I agree with view that a draw will be a good result. I am hopeful we will come away with a 1-1 scoreline but would not be surprised if Burnley ran out 2-1 winners in a close game.

Cork and Roberts will score due to the ex player curse so we need to score three
