Good Morning. It's Thursday 13th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Orta to offer Harrison double salary to stay Jack Harrison is set to become the highest paid player at Elland Road, should he commit to a new long term contract. The 25yo joined Leeds on a permanent basis from Manchester City in the Summer of 2021, having already spent three years on loan. For whatever season, he only signed a three-year contract, meaning he has little over 18 months of his contract remaining. Media sources are suggesting that Leeds are prepared to double his current package (to £80,000), overtaking Rodrigo as the highest-paid player. Will Harrison want to stay? Whilst the financial package may satisfy his monetary desires, Leeds ambitions on the pitch fall a long way short of what is expected of them. please log in to view this image Dorigo lauds Kristensen performance Former Elland Road favourite Tony Dorigo handed special praise to Rasmus Kristensen for his first half performance against Crystal Palace at the weekend. The big Dane was given the strenuous task of keeping Wilfried Zaha quiet, and according to the former England left back, had his 45 minutes in a Leeds shirt. “We started so well and kept their dangermen extremely quiet." "It’s difficult to recall much joy for Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze and Jordan Ayew in those opening stages,” “They couldn’t play through the thirds because our closing down was superb and when we won the ball back in those areas, as Jesse Marsch wants us to, we found space and did well to produce dangerous moments." "The disappointment is that we only took one chance, because we deserved to be one or two ahead at half-time. “Rasmus Kristensen had the best 45 minutes he’s played, he timed his runs forward a lot better and was never really exposed, defending Wilfried Zaha extremely well.” please log in to view this image Norwich plotting Cresswell capture Multiple media sources are suggesting Norwich City could be lining up a bid to take Charlie Cresswell to Carrow Road on a permanent basis. The 20yo has been left out of Millwall's last two matches after a difficult run of form, prompting Norwich to enquire whether Leeds would consider selling him. In the past, Bradley Johnson, Jonny Howson, Robert Snodgrass and Luciano Becchio all left Leeds Utd on the cheap to join the Canaries, whereas Adam Drury (who convinced Snodgrass to leave Leeds) and Steve Morrison (who joined Leeds from Norwich) never really made an impact at Elland Road. Cresswell signed a four-year contract extension during the Summer, prior to going out on loan to Millwall, and is seen as a long term successor to Liam Cooper, and future Captain. please log in to view this image Beadle joins backroom staff Chris Beadle has joined the backroom staff at Leeds as their new Director of Partnership Sales. His role will be to ensure the club generates more income through sponsorships and partnerships. Morning all Firstly Harrison, if used properly he is a weapon and will get some goals and assists. For me under Marsch he isnt effective and would sell him for as much as we can get. He has a great engine, generally puts in a shift but at times doesn't look up, doesn't give the easy pass in goal scoring opportunities and can be a stupid greedy embarrassment. He doesn't cope well when double teamed and because we havent had a real LB this season is being swamped. The other thing in this story is the salary. How many times have we argued about Rodrigo being on £100kpwk and now this story says Harrison to get £80kpwk to overtake Rodrigo? Beadle worked under Kinnear at West Ham so they know each other well.
Lifted this from Matt's post from the Athletic yesterday: "Harrison’s stats this season are notable and, in some respects, very striking. Most chances created at Leeds? Harrison on 19, with Aaronson and Tyler Adams next on 10 each. Most big chances created? Harrison with four, two ahead of Rodrigo and Struijk. Most chances made from dead balls? Harrison on eight, with Aaronson next on three. Most crosses from open play? Harrison’s 23, with Aaronson next on nine. Most dribbles? Harrison on 35, six more than Aaronson. Across the entire division, the 25-year-old is top 10 for shot-creating actions (SCA), the metric which records the two events directly before a shot is taken." Just putting it out there. The stats are skewed in my opinion because if we tend to attack down the left, as we do, then the guy playing there will naturally provide most of the output... Even so, he's top 10 in the league for shot-creating actions and created double the chances of anyone else in our team.
According to the YEP there a league table for VAR decisions and which teams benefit and those that dont. Leeds are bottom of this table because we have been impacted more than other clubs when decisions have gone against us. Surely VAR should be kicked out or improved by using the same rules for all, not ignoring some rules, not checking VAR when it should be. Consistency… if those decisions that should have gone our way happened I believe we would have more points on the board. Brentford would have been different because the 7 minute check to try and find an infringement wouldnt have happened and we would not have given them a penalty. The refusal to even check VAR for Summerville being dragged down in the box was a cut and dried penalty. Different score maybe even different result just in that one match…

Be interesting to see like for like stats last season with Raphinha on the right backed by Ayling? We do know however that Harrison usually contributes circa 8 goals and 10 assists per season but in this present set up that will not happen this season
Interesting how they look at this: https://www.espn.co.uk/football/eng...affected-every-premier-league-club-in-2022-23 They don't consider the times VAR looks and doesn't intervene (so the jimmy penalty incident isn't included). They only look at the times where VAR intervenes to overturn. So our -2 both come from the Brentford match - their penalty and the over-ruling the offside decsion on Mbueno's goal.
Harrison may not fit our style completely, but why offload him when it could be Jesse that gets his marching orders? No more star players to leave until we are safe and the moneys been reinvested in building the project please. Morning all
A few stories around today saying Rodrigo dropped for Sinisterra? For me Rodrigo starts, Sinisterra comes in on the right and Bamford sits on the bench until or if Rodrigo fails. We cannot afford to try and Get Bamford match fit by starting him if he performs like last week. Others will probably agree that Rodrigo should dropped

Afternoon all If Harrison doesn’t sign a new contract then we have James and I agree with Bucks, Jesse could be nearing the end if we don’t pick up some wins so let’s see where we are after the World Cup
