He sounded horrified at the thought players might get carried away with our good form when he was on the radio call-in, said something like "I dont think that will ever happen under me"

Exactly, I can't see him letting them get carried away either.

Pardew will tell them that Everton are a threat sure. But let's not knock our players intelligence, you heard them after the match (Ba and Jonas) they said they weren't getting carried away "We just play whatever game is infront of us." It's good to see, they where relaxed and simply happy to be victors. They will understand that Everton are a strong team, and that it's going to be hard to face them. And that will simply make them try harder. I can see us winning this. <ok>

Lawro does have a point, although he's went about it in a very ****ish way.

We always, always tend to struggle when we're 'expected' to beat teams. It's happened for years and it's a habit we're still not out of. When bigger teams turn up, we try much harder compared to smaller teams.

Then again, Everton isn't a small team. They're a very good side, and one of the better ones in this league, so hopefully the players will also think that and take this game seriously. No underestimating, otherwise we'll lose.

so we'll draw against Everton and then beat the 2 manchester sides, then get a draw against Chelsea?

    You think Lawrenson's bad?

Paul Merson has predicted our games against Arsenal (H), Sunderland (A), Fulham (H), QPR (A), Villa (A), Blackburn (H), Wolves (A) and Stoke (A). We got 18 points from those games.

What did he predict we'd get?

    I was laughing at this
Stoke looked really flat against Newcastle on Monday night. I've never thought they were just a route-one team but they definitely were against the Magpies, and they weren't even very good at that.

I don't know how he got the job but you could give a monkey a pen and paper and it would do a better job.

So wait Lawro is basing his prediction on the fact that we played badly against Wigan and still won? And thus against Everton we will again play crap and we will lose?

    Paul Merson is an idiot....

Newcastle haven't got many superstars in their side, if any, but they are playing as a team and working hard for each other.
So Cabaye, Tiote and Ba (to name a few) arent great?

I thought Demba Ba was a great buy at £4million.
    He was a free agent.

You know as well when he finally correctly predicts us losing he is going to be all smug and act like he totally saw that coming.

Confidence is a good thing to have, but sometimes that confidence can turn to arrogance. Let's hope that the team don't get too confidant and keep their feet firmly on the ground.

    Hope we win!

    Great we will win then.

Didn't this man predict us to win 2-1 against Wigan? no he's saying everyone was expecting us to turn the over? The guy has run out of reasons to be honest.
