We've been playing a back 4 for the last few games

    <applause> RTB

We need to score and I see you have put Benette in as striker...Worth a try I suppose... although I might be tempted to play a big lad there, say Alese? If Cirkin is fit to play.

Embo hit the bar and Clarke had 2 good attempts saved. We need to find the back of the net!

I remember Denis Smith losing faith in his strikers and playing Gary Bennet up front v Cambridge one year. It didn't work. We lost. Heavily

Panic measures rarely work for long if at all.

We need to persevere with the players who had Reading's head spinning imo.

Swansea are confident, all of a sudden, and I can see us getting behind them ...

... when we do we need to more clinical, that's all.

Great thread as usual @RTB. Thanks.
Another tight game, I've gone for the draw. Might suit us that these will want to play.
We do need to take our chances after the last two performances.

Think this is a very difficult match for us. They're in form,it's a horrible place to go,we need to be solid at the back and in the middle, and take any chances we get, because we may not get many.

I'm not really sure how good their form is tbh.

At Watford they equalised with a deflected goal then won after the game was delayed for ages ...

.. and they've lost four games, same as two of the bottom three.

It's a tough game for them as well, our form is good imo.

Great as always RTB - I think we will park the bus and try and catch them on the counter. Im feeling a draw but we could nick it

Alese seems to be a very forward thinking player. He was playing at the back midweek and he was in the box numerous times breaking forward, with the ball in play not just set pieces.

Whether he has the finishing etc of a striker I'm not sure but one thing he will have is a physical presence, I think our forward line (Clarke, Robert, Pritch) need a striker who puts himself about and hassles defenders and gives them a hard time.

As others have said though them lads also are much better when teams go at us and don't sit in for the point so I don't see a 0-0 this time out!

I don't think we can play that way and would be disappointed if we parked the bus. The reason even defeats have been positive is we haven't sat back and we have always been in it and pushed every team.

No issues with resting Pritchard, Robert's or both. Neil to start. Maybe Bennette a start. Would persevere with Amad up front, see how a little run of games will do him.

I was looking at the stats for the Blackpool game and Michut made an impact defensively, he only played 25 mins but only Gooch made more tackles. If that's a sign of things to come it's a promising one.

Mate Alese is a defender just cause he gets about the pitch doesn’t make him a striker! Not a dig at you I’ve seen it mentioned a couple times and I think it’s madness tbh Pickford plays a lovely ball but I wouldn’t stick him in the middle of the park.

Going by what TM said in his press conference, he sees Michut as the pivot in midfield similar to Evans, rather than a 10

Very tough game looking at their current form but fk it we are Sunderland. 3-4 to the cuddlies. Baath, Alese, Gooch and Amad.

Cheers RTB. Another cracking write up.
