Small step in the right direction but need 3 points at the Gooners.

Decent 2-0....should have been one or two more.

Thought Nunez was positive and lively, finding the positions but unlucky not to score

    Anything would be a bonus.

4231 and you could see that there were fewer gaps til the last 10 where fabinho and milner had absolutely no desire to shut the lines. But I just don't know that this was formation or rangers being ****.

Haven't seen the game yet, but it sounds like those of you did are impressed.

Glad we won. 2-0 better than dropping points... Not very convincing considering the opposition... But this is just the practice round ahead of the real challenges ahead so something to build on.

Probably mid table in the Championship if in England. Potential banana peel and you'd imagine a month ago we would have dropped points.

    So "progress" with an asterisk.

In 2 or 3 minds about that
    1. nice to see the increased intensity and change in formation
    2. Nunez constant threat but no goal
3 . Due to inability to get the goals we should have got gae ended with a nervy last 5 mins

Doesn't help the assessment that Rangers are pretty poor though it appears Napoli are the real deal right now .

    Change in formation/tactics definitely helped.

But the attitude from the defence was a million miles away from what we've watched.

Aggressive on the front foot, fearless at times.

I dont know if having extra cover boosted confidence or klopp told them if they conceded they where being fined a months wage, but they where completely different tonight.

    Just one note.

Ajax were **** against us as well.

Can't judge napoli right now as they are outclassing a poor group (everyone beasts us right now) they are top in Italy though after 8 games so only time will tell if they can sustain it.

Thought was a good performance if it was 5-0 it woukdnt have flattered us.

A very good block from Kostas otherwise could have been a tricky final 5.

Thought that was Nunez best game for us, despite not scoring. His movement and runs behind were very good and with bit more composure and accuracy wojkd have bagged a few goals.

The aggression off the ball was far better. I know ‘it’s only rangers’ but running to players and getting close to them doesn’t really depend on the opposition so that’s encouraging.

Still couple nervy moments in defence but overall much better.

Napoli demolishing Ajax away sets the group. You’d think they’ll beat Ajax at home and that’ll put them through. We beat rangers and puts us a point from qualy with Ajax away in round 5.

Might leave a straight shootout for top spot in final group game with napoli at home.

So the idea of scoring first isn't a bad one then?

Sounds like it was a much improved performance. Hopefully the start of something longer lasting and not a one-off like Bournemouth was. Trent said we played 442?

Out of interest, probably a difficult game to judge, but how did Ben Davies look?
