If we can get to Jan in same sort of position we are in now that would help. I think Maddison quite fancies the move but it's obviously quite complicated to get the best player out of a club. Especially on in Leicester's position. It was good to see that he doesn't really seem affected by the situation in the summer and he's got his head down turning in good performances, he doesn't seem the sulky type. I think he knows he'll be moving on at some point in the next 2 windows. We should have a good chance.
Was doing a 12 hour shift yesterday so I looked through this thread this morning. From 2pm till 3pm yesterday the thread was just brilliant! The amount of reverse psychology was so full of optimism . Outsiders viewing it would think that some of our fans question Howe, Murphy, Miggy, Longstaff and Fraser. Good job we keep the faith. The red card, Mitro going off, and everything - including VAR - falling for us helped perhaps. For me the only negative was Everton. Nice intro by Anderson too. This lad's going to some player. Superb day
Yes... yes... that's right... reverse psychology. Yes. It was all just reverse psychology. Of course we had faith in Longstaff, Miggy and Murphy. That's why we channelled all that reverse psychology in their direction, to help fuel their fire to play well. Well done us!
See the players are pissed off that we conceded. Botman was raging with Lewis. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...ews/newcastle-sven-botman-eddie-howe-25157916
He was shouting at Lascelles on the pitch... Lewis is the easy Target but Lascelles just let the guy cross and the cross was actually very good tbf.
I thought it was Lewis he was facing? But he did take a look at Lascelles. But shows that the players do care about the goal conceded as some where saying they only look at their own stats.
Probably both mate I'm just pointing out the problem came down the left and Lascelles just back off and the cross was allowed. I think Botman didn't fancy newcastle over Milan but, now I think he's pleased he came. Bring on January
He is going to take time to adapt to the league but he has all the ingredients to be a solid player for us.
Lewis stood open mouthed and bewildered and watched the ball fly over his head like a 5 year old kid seeing a plane take off for the first time.
Actually this backs up exactly what I was saying. The only one raging about the goal was the defender left on, as it makes him look bad. Schar, Burn and Trippier would be the ones thinking -look what happens when you take us off.
I think they are more likely sitting smug looking at their replacements. I guess we will never know if they score that goal if the subs had not happened.
They probably wouldn’t - changing 3 in a back four is likely to cause problems. The defence is normally the most important area to have a settled side as it is much more important that they are all on the same wavelength than midfield or attack. However Howe decided it was a risk he could afford to take to give some of our fringe players match time. It didn’t backfire - we won 4-1 and one goal makes little difference. He might have even been thinking about the League Cup game coming up and whether he could afford to rest some of the first choice back four.
