Emma Hayes talks a lot of sense. Either would get us on the back pages, even front for different reasons!
Posted on match thread but relevant here: Interesting to see his win % isn’t much lower than puel, pochettino, strachan and Nichols. However, his loss % is higher than any of them by some way. His record is considerably worse than Koeman and Burley, it’s actually similar to Merrington and Dave Jones. His loss % is only just below Branfoot now. EDIT: I excluded adkins and pardew for obvious reasons and only really looked at managers over 100 games.
Nice to see you back! Sorry can’t agree with you. The game seems to have changed this season and he just is not countering properly. Nearly every game bar one that I have seen we have given the opposition the mid field. He calls them attacking sides not sure what the players call them???
If he could start turning some losses into draws even, he would have an excellent record. Unfortunately we just fall apart with him as manager. As soon as we concede thats it.
Eh? Our only points this season come from losing positions Granted over his tenure your statement is more true than not but it isn’t as simple as that As an aside - following football tonight Twitter has made me realise why Elon tried pull out / has pulled out. So easy to **** post with fake or renamed accounts. Just seen a tweet where someone renamed their account to Southampton Fc and posted Ralph had been sacked ♂️
Having slept on it i'm changing my vote to unsure, on the one hand I was encouraged by the second half play (not the defending) and want to find out if Ralph persists with playing the new signings and seeing them knit together. On the other hand I don't think that we can go on another of those damaging extended poor runs, particularly so early in the season as we may not recover from it and we know how fragile the team's confidence can become under Ralph.
I was wavering after Villa, mostly on the back of team selection, but I'm back in the In camp after yesterday. Yeah, the first half was awful, but the team selection was bold. And second half we were unlucky. Incidentally, to those expecting to roll Everton over; that expectation was naive and failed to give them due credit. They had a former PSG player bossing their midfield, and on yesterday's performance you can see why PSG wanted him.
I hope that when the time comes Ralph and the owners come to an amicable agreement and he leaves the club voluntarily with a settlement. It would be a shame to sack him after the good work he has put into his job under trying conditions.
Ralph came in with a hugely positive high press attacking philosophy that was exciting and gave us an edge. Whilst things occasionally went horribly wrong and we ran out of steam in the last quarter of the seasons on balance it was something the fans could buy into and we were a team people didnt fancy playing against Sadly Ralph has been badly affected by the odd thrashing we got and gone into a defensive orientated shell, the high press gone and the attacking prowess lost We haven't evolved we have regressed. We have no discernable style of play and the players look lost. The Ralph we have today is not the one that rocked up 4 or so seasons ago, its a damaged shadow of that Ralph needs a change, a chance to regroup and reflect, and who knows take someone else on the exciting high press journey For us his race is done and he has to go now before we end up in serious trouble.
The current talk is about Wolves potentially making a change. Now fortunately, their unique circumstances mean that our managerial targets are likely to be different to theirs (unless there are any Portuguese managers who we're looking at). So we probably don't need to worry about Wolves beating us to a particular target. But what about, say, Leicester or Forest or Villa - any of whom could also decide to make a managerial change soon? Even the likes of, say, Fulham or Brentford could unexpectedly find themselves in the mix, in a similar way to how Brighton recently were (eg Thomas Frank has been linked to Leicester). Naturally I don't know what targets we have, or what conversations (if any) have tentatively taken place. But if there is someone who we like, and who we think we could get, we might not want to hang around.
It’s a sad time, we all like and respect Ralph but we all know it’s time to go Just hope the board just get on with the inevitable so we can all move on to the new regime
