    Squad assessment so far:

    Best performers:
    Lenglet, Perisic and Hojbjerg

    Done well:
Lloris (would've been above if not for today's shambles), Dier, Davies, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Richarlison and Kane.

    Not done well:
Sanchez and Bissouma (via lack of game time for him)

    Been poor:
    Son

Would rather not see play for us if given the choice:
    Sessegnon and Emerson

Notable changes in performance for the season to date (games = 8) .
Measures expressed as a % of the overall 2021-22 per game measures ...

    Spurs :

    1. Clean sheets are down 40% .

    2. Defence are down 50% at catching the opposition offside.

3 Red card offences = 1 (same as last season)

    Opposition :

    4. Clean sheets = 0.

    5. Off target shots are up 41%

    6. Yellow cards given are up 33%

    7. Red card offences = 0 (at last seasons' rate would be 1) .

My suggestion for the causes of :

    - 2/4/5 is that the team is sitting deep in defence and in large numbers

    - 7 is that the attack is not getting into sufficiently dangerous
areas to force the accruing fouls that get yellow cards

This one is not as "flashing lights" as the "season compass"
is over a season. The end of season is where things will
be very clear (although already we can see trends arising
    for certain measures) .

Analysis of report R1 (LONG) .

I contend that for any measure M, a value change
of at least 33% suggests that M should be
scrutinised in more detail. So on that basis ...

    Comments

    1/2.

At this stage of the season, the goal diversity (both scorers and
assisters) has been much better than last season.

    3.

Inducing opposition players into red card offences (single event or
two yellows) has been worse. At this stage of the season on the
"like for like" , the opposition would have incurred two red cards.

    4. Assisted goals have increased notably.

    5/6.

The team is scoring headers / from corner kicks at > 2x / 9x the
    rate of last season respectively.

The reason for this is evidently improvement in the quality of crosses.

    7. Penalty kick

The current penalty award rate is much better than last season.

    8/9. OG

The opposition OG rate is about the same, and none have been flukes.

    10. Clean sheet

The opposition are being significantly less successful in preventing
    Spurs from scoring.

    11. Red cards

Spurs have already incurred as many red cards as they did last season.

    12. Opposition assisted goals have increased notably.

    13. The opposition have a significant reduction in headed goals.

At this stage of the season on the "like for like" , the opposition should
have scored 3 headers, while they currently have scored only once.

14-16. Spurs have conceded no goals from free kicks.

    17/18. Penalty kick

The opposition current penalty award rate is better than last season.

    19. Spurs have conceded no OG.

At this stage of the season on the "like for like" , Spurs should
    have conceded one OG.

    Spurs :

    1. Number of clean sheets is down by 33%

    Opposition

    2. Number of clean sheets is down by 69%

    3. Number of direct/assisted goals scored has increased by
    50/48 % respectively.

    4. Number of goals scored from corners is down by ~33%

My suggestion for the causes of :

    - 1/3 is that the defence is sitting too deep in defence

    - 2 is that the Spurs attack is too potent to prevent scoring

    - 4 is that the Spurs defence is well-organised +/- the opposition
quality of crosses is quite low
