Well this is it.........the nemisis. Bogey team. The Devil incarnate. Pick whatever phrase you want as all of them will no doubt be written before the game is out. Our confidence is sky high at the moment so the expectation for a favourable result will be just as high no doubt. Wycombe have had mixed results so far this season. What could possibly go wrong. I think we can win here for a change. There is no reason form wise not to think that is there. As long as they don't get frustrated and let Ainsworth get into their heads then all could be well. Am I convincing myself or anyone else? Not sure.

I expect this will be the usual 10 minutes of extra time before the final whistle.

I've got an excuse not to follow it tomorrow.....Mrs Plym has a friend who is having a birthday party in their garden.....1pm to 5pm......that should cover the finishing time (only just).

Couldn't the friend have their birthday in the summer when the weather is better for a garden party?

Her parents let her down there didn't they....I hope it stays sunny like it is at the moment.....she has a very small bungalow to be indoors all the time....wouldn't be easy to be discreet checking the match scores on me mobile.

Difficult travelling today without the choo choos.

I hope Schumacher has prepared himself for an extra, extra long second half if we're winning at the time......Ainsworth has probably written a book on the dark arts of stretching 45 minutes when necessary.

Back 4 it seems: 4:3:2:1. Galloway and Lonwijk in the “full back” positions presumably.

We’ve gone from “what’s the Plan B” to “we’ll run out of letters in a minute”.

Accordoing to the Pasoti commentary we are getting a bit battered here. stats also suggest it as well. Best stat is the scoreline I guess. Gonna be a long afternoon.

Phew........ Pasoti praising Argyle for their "time management". So much for we never "time manage". Great result for us though. Looking at the other results so far we needed it.

Phew. Stats would suggest that was a tough one but of course we don’t know the relative quality of play or how threatening the chances were.

Three points in the bag, away from home, that’s all that matters

Just as well given Ipswich have sneaked home 3-2

Argyle win at Wycombe and only 5 extra minutes......blimey....we'll have to start taking promotion seriously soon.

Just watched the video....well taken penalty by Cosgrove....he has brought a missing dimension that we didn't have last season.....so many regulars on the bench who didn't get called on today.....good use of a squad...keeping key players fresh for another day.

Schumacher did well starting Cosgrave today....how many of us expected that to happen....did that surprise Ainsworth.....if it did well done Schumacher....your learning fast.

Argyle scrapped well for everything and got their reward.....amazing that 1200 greens made the match without any trains running today.

Only two players under 6 ft tall - Randell and Houghton - picked to do a job against Wycombe's inimitable style.

It's a little ironic that most of that 5 minutes extra time would have been for Argyle time managing the game rather than Wycombe stretching it. It was also the first result to show ended on my computer in league one. So much for having an extra hour or two to play. I've had this conversation several times with my son about Wycombe and the perceived dark arts of time wasting. They generally are not any worse than a number of other teams including ourselves when it suits. They have a reputation from one or two games in particular that greens remember and have been branded bad on that basis. Personally I don't like to see any team do it including us. I pay to watch a 90 minute match not people adjusting their socks and cleaning their boots for a quarter of it.

Not the greatest of games today by all accounts but certainly an excellent result and well planned by Schuey. Not sure which alphabetty tactical plan today was in the 26 options available but it worked even if a bit lucky at times. Actually not lucky. You make your own luck and if oppositions can't score it's down to their own ineptitude rather than luck. Cooper MOM says a lot. He wasn't lucky just exceptional again. There was another result on the East Coast that wasn't half bad as well. Good day all around for me.

If Ipswich had only drawn....we would have had a 3pt lead at the top......over them....and 2pts over Wednesday.....Tuesday's game is a biggy now.

It's not any bigger than any other game. It's for the same 3 points you get no matter who you are playing and win or lose it the season will not be defined by that one match. There is an irony that having had almost every team around us in September we now have a shed load of mid table opponents for October with this one the exception having been re-arranged. I actually thought we would come out with very few points if honest in September and we only dropped 2 out of the possible. I think loads will be expecting us to win everything in October now so what are the chances the months will have reversed themselves in outcome.

I've agreed with "3 points are 3 points" argument before but here we are, top, with a quarter of the season behind us. Conor Grant got some game time on Saturday and Mikel Miller seems to be on the way, which can only make us stronger. It's been said there is money left in the budget for a couple of signings at Christmas.

The only reasonable aspiration from here is automatic promotion and that means expecting to beat teams in the bottom two thirds of the table and needing to take as many points from the top third as possible. We will lose some of course against both groups and will just have to take that in our stride. One game does not define a season as you say.

However, it's one we want to win and it's one we can win so I'm looking at it a six-pointer. I think this Argyle team are good enough to say that.

I WANT us to win every game notdistant. Absolutely we should be scared of nobody. Absolutely we can win this one. Absolutely we are the team in form and at the top. The only bit of trepidation is that I have followed the greens for so many years now and have learned they seldom do the expected. It's a green thing isn't it. We are never quite sure how good we are as there is always that little tiny bit of doubt in there somewhere. You know what I mean with the "this can't keep it up can it?"
