Liz Truss is quite clearly a serious danger both to her country and her party. How much the average Conservative MP cares about the country, I do not know. Some do care, I’m sure. But this is not a case of putting country before party, or vice versa - she’s destroying both. They’ll throw her in the river, sooner rather than later imo.
I’m waiting for Kwarteng to make a comment about not having the right coloured underpants on when he did the budget. He’ll probably claim they were red, making it a Labour budget.
Spaffer is going to be loving this. He won't give a flyer for the predicament the country is in and could be looking to make a comeback.
Lol. I had to share this. From The Times: One MP who turned down a job in Truss’s government tried to put perspective on how bad things were. “My dog had his balls chopped off yesterday so it’s a reminder that things can always get worse,” he said.
As can be seen, from the following, the Tory MPs voicing concern, over the Truss/Kwarteng debacle, are not so much worried about the public/country but about losing their seats/ A Tory rebel ringleader told the Mirror: “We will have zero chance of keeping our seats if we do not stop this, so we will do whatever it takes.”
Apparently, according to an LBC radio host, Parliament has sat for just 1 week in the last 14. That Is A Disgrace.
I mean that is most people for you they will first and foremost care about keeping their job, at least it shows there is an effective way to put their balls in a vice and they are currently feeling the country’s tender grip.
Looks like the GE Now petition is taking off, another 60,000 added today alone, taking it to over 330,000.
It feels like they are deliberately tanking themselves. Tampering with pensions and mortgages is just about the most sure fire way to piss off the country. That being said that is an extremely hypothetical tweet, I cannot see them touching the state pension.
