I’ll repeat the very last thing we need is another manager without any experience of the Championship.
IF, and I don't know he did lose the dressing room, it tells me as a player that the owner has acted and now he is telling us players to pull our socks up and start playing. AND also you lot are on world TV tonight.
So Shota is consigned to the same fate as Slutsky - likeable bloke but unable to do the job. Shame as I think he’s got a great football brain but that doesn’t always translate into being a good manager. If I was writing the job spec for the new manager then I’d have 1. Understand this league, experience an advantage, success would be ideal. 2. Ability to whip a defence into shape. 3. Get the team playing as a team again and not a bunch of randoms that just met in the car park before the match. I don’t know why Steve Bruce keeps coming to mind. Very interested to see whether Acun goes for one of the usual suspects on the manager merry go round or another continental we’ve never heard of. Suspect it will be a big clue as to his intentions and long term strategy the club - learn from his mistakes or stick to his course?
I totally agree. When we analyse your transfers and head coach choice, Most of these are from Türkiye (ozan, pelkas, allahyar, doğukan, estupinian, seri, shota etc.) So next coach might be from there and the possibilities are that i said above. Again i totally agree your next coach should have an PL or championship experienced.
Why the morning of the game though? Did he refuse to play Acun's team/formation? There is no other logical reason I can think of to do it today. It clearly was not in the pipeline as Shota did media yesterday. Was it a call this morning?
Word is that a major falling out happened during a call/meeting this morning hence the timing. Not sure we'll find anymore detail but as OLM it's the correct long term decision so the timing really doesn't matter. Imo he would have been gone over the weekend anyway
With our chairman’s love of all theatrics, What are the odds, Acun will be sat in the west stand with a new manager positioned right next to him? He’s got the tv cameras there to advertise his bold move…
Well it sure as **** isn't going to be Dyche, he can get a miles better job than we can offer. Where's Nigel Adkins these days?
Team is different to the one Shota picked yesterday apparently. Not sure if Dawson ripped it up or someone else....
Thats the thing, after todays antics there wont be a rush of people with pedigree wanting this gig. Usual suspects yes, but I doubt those with serious chances of top end jobs would want to risk working with an owner that chooses game day to sack someone. It is a terrible look for the Club in my opinion.
I bet Figs was still starting. I thought we'd get beat tonight and comfortably so I reckon we could see a decent lift. I've no idea what Daws is like as a gaffer, but I'm pretty certain he'll be very well liked by the squad and I reckon they'll want to have a right good go for him
Today won't make a shred of difference to people that want to apply for the role. People involved in football know exactly what football is like. As far as champ teams go we are a very attractive proposition
If it is true that players were confused by Shota you would expect to see a bounce. Stuff like this galvanises players and you would hope they would come out tonight and give it a bloody good go as there is no blame to be put on anyone after a piece of news like this ahead of a game.
