Hi everyone. Quick question for those knowledgeable about greyhound betting - I backed a dog at 3/1 around lunchtime on the day of the race, dog went and won at 11/2 that evening. Do bookmakers pay BOG on dog racing?

    Bet placed in Paddy Powers.

It is “do not shoot the messenger” time. I was not planning on looking at today’s meetings in Britain but a mate of mine sent me a message Saturday night while I was out and my phone was in a desk drawer at home!

Looking on Oddschecker, all the 2/1 went last night/early today but the word is for newcomer Modaara from the in-form Varian yard in the 3:34 at Yarmouth. She is a sister to the decent Benbatl and half-sister to Jammrah.

I have to say that a cursory inspection of the runners led me to Sir Michael Stoute’s Infinitive, a Ulysses filly out of Cheveley Park’s Integral, who unseated at Wolverhampton last time when clipping heels but has experience on her side from a previous second. As there is also an Appleby newcomer and two experienced fillies from the Gosden and Haggas yards this is a race I would just watch if I were at Yarmouth. The Gosden filly was beaten at 2/9 last time by a Varian horse.

What a smashing handicap this is. I have spent far too long looking at the race from different angles and each time coming up with a different answer.
Lot Of Joy - typical Mullins type for this sort of race and really interesting jockey booking
Calling The Wind - lovely type who really does look like this is just the test for him. Slight doubt is how well/badly handicapped he might be
Wordsworth - very one paced slowboat but bags of ability and this stamina test could be perfect for him. Bit of a cliff horse for me.
Inuit - from a very shrewd yard and this youngster could improve massively up in trip
Whiskey Sour - smashing competitor and has slipped to a reasonable mark and has a very useful claimer on board

Five goes and still likely that I havent named the winner.

HARLEY STREET in the last is really well bred. Took 3's last night and it would be no surprise if he wasnt a cut above these.

Stick's comments on the Irish Cesarewitch at The Curragh (16:15) have really got me going. I fully agree with his comments about Inuit. This French-bred colt by Caravaggio out of a Dalakhani mare is stamina-packed and goes well on soft ground. He'll do for me for a sporting wager! Dylan McMonagle rides for the successful Joseph P. O'Brien yard.

33/1 in four places best price for Inuit at time of writing. E/W best option, of course.

Really looking-forward to this race! :emoticon-0167-beer:

Bad luck, Ste D, a tough one to lose. Mine ran a fine race and looked to have a chance but couldn't manage the last furlong or so. Was certainly ahead of the rest of Joseph P. O'Brien's runners!
