Maybe some who just hate Ralph, I like him personally. But as time goes on it just becomes clearer to me that he isn’t the guy to take us forward. I don’t know if things have gone stale and everyone needs a fresh start?
He probably isn’t the guy to take us forward long term. But I expect we have targets and if they aren’t available / willing to come right now then a change would be short sighted - unless things take a real downturn and we are mired in the relegation places
Saints have always to me been a side full of surprises. Sadly under Ralph they seem to be more predictable hardly ever winning. When we played Chelsea there seemed to be spark. Sadly since then we have gone down and down in my opinion.
3 wins in 27. We have been utter ****e for a calendar year now. I’d call that a downturn. We don’t press or attack like we used to. His subs are mental. His tactics are crap. Look at our results over a season length and it’s relegation form. Personally I’d make the change now before Everton and maybe we would have a chance of a new manager bounce.
We have played 7 games and we were only really crap against Spurs and Villa. I know we only have 7 points but we were Unlucky against United and Wolves. If we were crap in most of the games I could understand why people are calling for his head but only two bad games?
I’m still puzzled at this new concept that the league table has somehow become cumulative over more than one season, starting and finishing at random points.
If Cortese can say that anything before Markus took us over was the old Southampton FC then I'm saying the same thing after Goa.
I know, mitigating circumstances and all. Lack of investment, new players to bed in, unlucky, played well but lost again etc. Seriously look at that visual display of how **** we are? And you think he’s better than mediocre? I just don’t understand how you expect things to get better based on over 3 seasons of history. Blind faith? I know you think it’s all the boards fault and Ralph did well to keep us up, but what is it you’ve seen that makes you think we will start performing? I look at that and think if we improve it will be in spite of Ralph, not because of him.
Irrelevant to our final position this season yes. I can’t speak for everyone but I’m aware of how the league system works. Not irrelevant when you’re discussing the manager who resided over these fixtures.
Personally i would give him until the World Cup to get the team playing as I think they should but a few more performances and uninspiring team selections like the ones against Villa and then maybe it could be sooner.
