When world leaders return to their countries they will struggle to comprehend just how/what was achieved today and what it meant to many of us. I said this before, but bravo to the young pallbearers, indeed all the younger generation tri-military involved. It was an epic programme. Also weren't young George and Charlotte fantastic. I think we're in safe hands.

Absolutely, gosh, what a spectacle, makes you proud to be British, no one does pageantry better than us.

Those pall bearers, wow, what an incredible job they did, there’ll be some very proud parents tonight. Nerves, and shoulders of steel, how much pressure in front of billions? Those steps at Windsor Castle, heart in stomach moments.

Their last duty for the Queen fulfilled. RIP Ma'am.

Ditto,I thought the RN march surrounding the gun carriage was possibly the finest military feat I have ever seen, not a step out of time, not a body out of place(My late Father was in the forces so I've seen plenty of parades).Absolute precision from start to finish,as were the pall bearers...That's a huge honour but also a huge responsibility to bestow on 8 young men, they carried it out to perfection.

A sad day for my household,we all adored her.

    Rest In Peace your Majesty...

Tuned in to watch. Genuinely thought they would do it well but when the Queen set off with the massed pipes in front and the swaying of the Navy ratings it brought a lump to my throat.
As Joe Biden said “ you where lucky to have her”

there was a bit after the service in windsor where limos were arriving to take away the royals. there was a lass whose job was to open and close the car doors. i was pleased to see at least some of them said thank you to her, including, to my surprise, the markle woman.

one thing that did occur to me was that there must have been an awful lot of people crossing their legs and hoping for the best.

one abiding impression left with me after watching princess diana's funeral (which i taped but can't imagine every watching) was crossing fingers, toes, and everything else to help get elton john through the new candle in the wind without his voice cracking and emotion getting the better of him. i find his music very much hit and miss, and if i could choose the tracks, i'd happily pay for a compiliation album, but as many miss the mark as hit the mark for me. but today i was hoping that those who spoke and sang and played would get through their pieces without faltering. i recall a funeral of a friend's father, and the granddaughter had elected to sing a solo piece at the funeral and couldn't get through it. tough job for someone that young and with confidence issues.

    both verses:

    God save our gracious King!
    Long live our noble King!
    God save the King!
    Send him victorious,
    Happy and glorious,
    Long to reign over us,
    God save the King.

    Thy choicest gifts in store
On him be pleased to pour,
    Long may he reign.
    May he defend our laws,
    And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
    God save the King.
