Villarreal bottom of their group without a point. La Liga is so strong.

Surely as a Chelsea fan you should be watching Chelsea? Or are you jumping ship for the even newer money club?

Don't worry about the Chelsea pricks. They're just stewing cos they were shown up to be the over the hill bunch of twats they are for the third time
    In a row.

The problem in midfield is that we don't have recognised best midfielders or even a best combination.

The way I saw it today was that Rooney's attacking threat was curtailed because Anderson isn't naturally defensive. And Anderson was unable to really push on because Rooney isn't naturally defensive. It's a vicious circle.

For me, Anderson is our best central midfielder but he needs someone next to him that a) defines his role within the team as the impetus from midfield and b) lets him play his natural game. Until Carrick plays with Anderson in the centre, we aren't getting the best out of Anderson. But even tonight, he had a poor game, but he still pushed forward, unlucky not to score.

Furthermore, Rooney is not the new Scholes, never will be. It's not that he isn't technically good enough, but you cannot be looking to replace someone who has had a niche. It's the Makelele role- there's a reason why Chelsea haven't found someone to play the same way he does- unless they find a clone of Makelele, it's going to be hard. We should be looking to develop the team to get the best out of the players and squad that we have.

We don't need an attacking midfielder, we need a pressing midfielder or someone who will just sit in the gap in front of the defence. Carrick does the latter very well and unless he is injured, I've got no idea why he isn't playing.

Regarding the game today, it was tepid. It wasn't that bad as some people will make out- in the media or "fans" that will be saying Anderson isn't good enough, Evans isn't good enough etc. etc.

They huffed but didn't really create anything, apart from that deflected shot that tested De Gea and a few punches, what else did De Gea have to do, not much to be honest. The media will make out this is such a poor performance from United, what a weak midfield they have, what defensive problems they have but at the end of the day, I'd be more worried if we gave them everything and only scored 2-0 goals.
