No stick him on the bench. The other team will be terrified when he comes on. And the other team will be>
It may not be a terrible idea to bench him again. Doing it today has clearly reignited him and got him back focused. Another game of that then straight back in for Richarlison.
Rodgers to be sacked? Looking glum for him. Albeit I don’t think it’s entirely his fault, Leicester’s finances have ****ed him.
I’d doubt it as there’s seemingly no funds to refresh the squad and no one really goes into a club without being able to bring one or two in. He’d probably do well at coaching some of the players to be better though.
Bit of a crazy game but we settled it down in the second half after the early goal from Bentancur. While the system looked like working in the first half, there were far too many individual mistakes throughout but especially in the first half. For all that the system was a good matchup for Leicester, the game really swung on moments of individual mistakes and quality. Whether Sanchez, Maddison, or indeed Sonny’s brilliance. Was a fantastic game to watch. While I so want to give MOTM to Sonny for coming on and not just killing the game, but committing a triple homicide, I also think Bentancur deserves a shout for a goal and (just about) an assist, and playing the whole game of course.
Great win for you guys (annoyingly). As well as you played in an attacking sense, still think you’ve got some some work to do defensively. Leicester broke through your backline very easily and that first half especially, where you kept turning over possession and they were getting a lot of decent chances when they broke into your final third. Anyway, surely this is the end of the road for Brendan? 6 losses, 1 draw, rooted bottom of the table with a -12 goal difference, 22 goals conceded in 7 matches, looked ropey from set-plays all game and no defensive organisation. I will be flabbergasted if he survives this. He’s done some great stuff at Leicester, but their poor form last season and their horrid start to this season means his position is surely untenable…
First half riddled with mistakes. Second half completely controlled after the first five or ten minutes. We looked much more like the team of last season in that half. Feel sorry for Bentancur as I thought he was fantastic in that 45 but Son is taking that MOTM award all day long with a hattrick off the bench. Best we’ve seen of Bissouma too, amazing what minutes can do, eh?! Hojbjerg also good, as was Kane and Kulu. Sanchez and Sessegnon though… get in the bin.
