That game was awful, prime puel. Most exciting bit was trying to guess the name of the next mascot to appear on the vid screens
Have been thinking about starting up my sport website again. Wasn't going to do match reports like Glen De La Couer, but more reflections on Saints games. Not sure I want to do it now...
It's a ridiculous phenomenon of the modern fan. I respect their opinions, but it's the way they go so full throttle on it after a bad game. No one will feel that more than Ralph, and he definitely should have done better there. It's going to be hard for him to avoid a lot of fan noise following a third loss, so he needs to win vs Everton, unless he fancies it vs Man City. Tonight we were victims of our Friday night curse and our seeming inability to win a game we outperform in/weren't expected to (Chelsea) without going on a ten game losing streak directly afterwards. Ralph compounded it with some strange choices. And we still only lost 1-0!
So, 2020 as a calendar year counts as one, spanning 2 seasons because we were good ... but we write off the first bad 6 months of this year cos it was a different season. Form is form, no matter the season. Good or bad.
You don't even need to stop there. Ralph's entire reign has been littered with short runs of good results/performances. It never lasts.
But didn’t. Because we can’t score, because we don’t make chances, which makes us horrible to watch and a bad team
The Queen would have got a better performance out of the team tonight, for sure. And I mean the Queen in her current state.
Yes, let's ignore the fact we've got a vastly different squad and coaching staff to last season. I don't understand why people are so keen to linger on last season. It's something you should want to banish from memory for evermore.
Maybe it's down to Wolves hardly conceding at home. They are total bastards to play - they defend really well. And we still created two glaring chances plus Edozie tore their RB a new one every time he took him on.
It's really not that different. Only 2 of the new signings started today, so to expect progression on that is optimistic to say the least. I wish I could forget last seasons run. And the seasons before that.
Good job by Agent Ralph to keep Gerrard in the job a little longer, thus potentially taking away a relegation spot. Or something like that...
Concerns: I was concerned that without the new signings we would be back to the previous issues, I didn’t realise that only losing Lavia would do it If AMN was available we could have subbed Diallo earlier and played Aribo higher, as he wasn’t Aribo was too deep and we still had no threat JWP is so much better alongside Lavia and so much worse with Diallo We pressed them earlier … and then stopped How did Moi stay on for 78 minutes !!!!!!!
Looool. We’ve won 6 games all year. 4 wins and a draw out of 20 games Look at the results for the last calendar year. It’s all relevant tbh. I said in the other thread that Ralph has to prove he’s up to it. And tonight proved the opposite. We are in real trouble
Imagine signing 10 new players, still starting with dross like Elyounoussi, A Armstrong, Djenepo & Diallo and expecting progress on last season.
A Armstrong and Djenepo have played really well this season. That's a bit of a ridiculous comment TBH.
