2.15 Newbury-Mitbaahy Each Way @ 7-1 [Bet 365] 4 places Let me down last race but still believe he is a smart sprinter
Catterick 258 i really can not see past wades magic in this sprint and with 365 offering 9/2 it seems a no brainer
Good luck with Bielsa, who looks to be on a favourable mark but his only win in the last three years was this last year. The last horse to win the race twice was Funfair Wane, but not in consecutive years: 2002 and 2004. The three year old Khanjar looks a bit of a blot on the handicap with a 5lb penalty and another Kevin Ryan runner Bergerac with a 5lb penalty on a hat-trick catches my eye at bigger odds. If Popmaster wins, Ken Bruce’s Inbox is going to be deluged with people wanting to know if he backed it; however, it was only 17th last year. My free Ayr bet with Bet365 is probably going on something in a race with fewer runners so at least I can spot it losing. Queen Me is in my tracker after her Lowther run but she is too short today.
Catterick 408 another Easterby runner and another wilkie 7lb claim on bollin niel , but the other end of the scale bollin is rank outsider in this at 20s .bollin loves course distance and conditions so ew bet it is
The feature at Newbury is the Mill Reef Stakes (2:50), which looks more open than the market appears to suggest. Odds on favourite Sakheer slammed eleven rivals at Haydock last time and now steps into group company. He meets Shouldvebeenaring trying to complete a four timer, winner of a six runner Listed race last time after bagging a big pot at York in a sales race. Hannon also runs once-raced maiden Wallop. As well as the favourite, Varian also runs Charyn, while last year’s winning trainer Clive Cox runs Salisbury novice winner Heroism, who makes most appeal as value at more than field odds in a race that I think I will just watch. Godolphin field three of the thirteen in the big handicap at Newbury and the bookmakers are probably rightly taking the view that Warren Point looks the most likely winner but he looks like a bit of an awkward customer reading his form and I would prefer Marching Army, unfancied winner last time when a stablemate was favourite, or Listed winner Ottoman Fleet, fourth in the King Edward VII when last seen so clearly well regarded; however, I do not like first-time-in-a-handicap horses and how Lysander runs earlier may indicate the value of the Ascot form. The Group 3 sprint (2:15) features several that have done very little recently to justify any thought of supporting them, including the disappointing Diligent Harry. It is hard to make a good case for the six year old mare Chil Chil because whilst her fifth in the Haydock Sprint Cup looks like the best form it was over six; and she has never won over less including a staying on fifth in last year’s Nunthorpe. Three year old Mitbaahy is a Listed winner and ran Raasel close in a Group 3 at Sandown (Method and Existent behind) after finding trouble on his penultimate start. Ignoring his total no-show at Goodwood (tenth with Existent ninth) he looks a live contender. Old boy Tis Marvellous won back-to-back runnings of the Beverley Bullet last time; however, he was third in this race last year and whilst he is sure to give his running once again, my preference is for three year old colt MANACCAN. After winning a handicap at Ascot beating veteran Judicial, he was a close third in a Listed race at HQ over six before winning a Listed race at Doncaster back down to five (Attagirl third). As an improving three year old stepping up in grade he ticks the boxes. Solid Stone won the Group 3 Legacy Cup last term but has subsequently picked up a Group 2 penalty that will make life hard for him seeking a repeat. Three year old filly Stay Alert won a Listed race here before running around five lengths fifth in the Lancashire Oaks and may find a couple of these simply too good. Lysander only has four runs to his name, has not been seen since his third in the King Edward VII and comes from a yard that could probably win with the stable cat this year so has to be respected with no miles on the clock. None of the three Godolphin runners have recent race fitness in their favour but they do look the most likely source of the winner. Siskany won a Listed fourteen furlong race at Meydan in January and was third in a Group 3 fifteen furlong handicap at Riyadh in February but I cannot be having him after six months off over a shorter trip. Kemari is consistent and followed a second in the Fred Archer by chasing home an odds on stablemate in a Group 3 at Goodwood (Fancy Man third) and he looks like the pace angle in this race having led all his last three starts. That leads me to the other Godolphin runner, DUBAI FUTURE, winner of the Wolferton at Ascot on his penultimate start. He was only third in the five runner Group 2 York Stakes last time but I am expecting him to get a lead from Kemari here and be fighting out the finish.

In the Class-3 Nursery at Ayr (16:15) over 1m., Have Secret has every chance to win this. Form lines read well, and conditions and distance today will suit the Havana Gold colt. Oisin Orr on board for the Richard Fahey yard. Stable has a 'ton' of runners today, all over the place, but selection has one of yard's best chances of success; just an opinion, of course! 6/1 (Bet365) best price at time of writing. The Ayr Gold Cup is its usual baffler. Escobar is the mystery horse. Takes a massive drop in trip at 6f, after running in a Listed race at Sandown over 1m just 3-days ago on soft ground! 'Meatball' wisecracks aside. Mr Wagyu really does have a first-rate chance and will probably run a big race. But I will take a watching brief and enjoy the cavalry charge. Good luck today folks, and every success with your wagers! (Oktoberfest starts today down here. Unlucky again with the weather, peeing down as I write. The Fest has a lot of bad luck weather-wise)
If the Bronze race yesterday is anything to go on you want to be drawn high in the Silver Cup. Hyperfocus will do for me from stall 23
