I’ve had multiple messages from pals who support other teams saying ‘wow, that 3rd’ and such. Says it all. It’s on every footy site going it’s a thing of absolute beauty.
If there's a better goal scored in the World Cup, the team that scores it deserves to lift the Cup. But there won't be.
Showed it to a Man City fan this morning. He was very impressed - Commented - "wow - that's very Man City". I'll take that.
I wonder if Sims was carrying that injury and just gave it a go, the lads that were interviewed said they had been training with no main striker all week. If they have and TM had them as well drilled as that then its even more impressive
I heard they had played a couple of bounce games in training so one of the teams at least would have been without a recognised striker.
Got a message from a French mate of mine, watches quite a bit football, and keeps an eye on us since I took him and a couple of others to a home game vs arsenal (yep a while back now). He said he has us and Norwich marked for getting promoted I want to believe him, but want a bit of realism in my hopes and expectations
Sadly, after the perfectly observed minute's silence, the Reading supporters failed to hear the second whistle ending it ... .... the poor souls sat in total silence for the entire 90 minutes
Those tactics are too flimsy because you won't always grab a goal and the other team will score occasionally. If you go behind your tactic of surrendering possession immediately bites you on the arse.
I have had the same. One message said simply - 'you lot are playing top half premier league football'. Lots of my in laws are Norwich and they are saying we are the best team they have seen so far this season, by a fair bit as well. Hard not to get carried away sometimes, and sod it I am all in with this lot. We are a proper team now, even with 3 absolutely key men out in Cirkin, Stewart and Ballard.
I agree. Reading probably dont have the squad for much else though. Against some teams in this division it will be effective I suspect because there are teams without the sort of attacking players we have. Hard to see them top 10 after last night, but I reckon they will be safe enough points wise. I think as much as anything our width killes them, as they got dragged to places they didnt want to be and the spaces then were massive.
Pretty mental how good a start all 3 promoted clubs have had. Indeed despite our good start we are behind both Rotherham and Wigan on a points per game basis - as they're 1 point behind with a game in hand. They've both only lost once each. Shows how good a league that was last year.
I'd say our games have been much harder tbh ... ... I have no idea who's played who, and no evidence to back it up, just saying it.
You sometimes find teams who come up start pretty well then tail off. With ourselves I can see us getting better as the season goes on.
yeh we are only a fifth of the season in so comparisons are futile. My point was more that they've had equally impressive starts and we should all be pleased. Especially considering the narrative for so long was that the jump to championship was this huge chasm. it clearly, clearly isn't
