Shota’s recruited for 4-3-3 playing out from the back but plays 3-5-2 playing out from the back with centre-halves that can’t pass urine and a midfield Ronnie Corbett could win headers against.

    Shota-ball isn’t working.

ST...... Stoke weren't performing, they bring in an average manager and make us look like muppets... With the squad we now have, one window in, a good manager would have Acun 'living his dream' and has with it... and edited.... theres too much at stake here for Acun....

Ehab: We're a club that plays 4-3-3, that's our philosophy.

*Ehab ****s off, taking his ****e formation that got us relegated to League One with him*

"Hi Acun, so tell us about your new manager"

    "Well, he plays 4-3-3"

    *throws computer out of window*

Pretty sure he was booked for a decent tackle on a Stoke ****er who should already have been off the pitch by then due to the 2 yellows he should have had in the first 30 mins.****ing ****e refereeing throughout the game I thought and it cost us.

I really don't think we'd be much higher than we are. We've lost three on the bounce, one win in six which is pretty bad going by all accounts. But we get a bit of form and win a couple, we go back up the league again. This season isn't about trying to smash our way to promotion, it's about building a team. Acun already said something like "we could finish 12th, but also maybe 2nd given what the league is like", while he speaks openly in public about wanting the playoffs, he's pretty level headed behind the scenes. He wants the fans to get excited, to get us on board with the project. He's done that so far, he's not going to ruin it by letting the team slide down the league with **** performances.

If he has to axe Shota, he will in a heartbeat.

0-3 flattered us. Very, very poor. That's being kind.

I don't think you can blame that sort of performance on a ref.

He doesn’t, though. He’s set on three at the back and playing out from the back even though the three he’s playing don’t look comfortable on the ball. The midfield is also too lightweight which is an issue I brought up in preseason but apparently height and strength doesn’t matter in contact sports like football anymore because Iniesta was short, or some such bollocks.

Notice how every cross that came in for Oscar got headed away by Stoke’s big ****-off centre-halves Flint and Wilmot?

But height doesn’t matter because Iniesta.

Well, I figured we'd have enough guile to cope but I think you're right and I was wrong, we do look far too lightweight when out of possession. We seemed to have stopped pressing as well, like we want the opposition to attack because we hope they'll **** it rather than force an error or try to legitimately win the ball back.

FWIW, I don't see why we can't play Jones there, he's experienced as a DM, it just leaves us light for cover in the centre half position. But if we played a back four, it wouldn't be so much of an issue.

    You forgot Messi.

I'd take a midget ****house though, just some sort of nous at the base of the midfield. Does the mucky stuff well. That type.

If he's 6ft 2 then all the better

the biggest mistake Acun made was telling the world Shota was the next manager of Hull City before he actually owned the club. Based on what, his record managing in Kazakhstan ? Chris Wilder became available & City could have had him as manager but Acun had already announced (whilst McCann was still at the club) the next manager of Hull City will be Shota. He painted himself into a corner & by the look on his face tonight & listening to the fans booing his team off the pitch he knows it!!!

Wilder did some analysis for the new regime. He was being spoken to before Boro came along.

Managed to get seats in W5 through a competition today. Felt like I finally got a good view of everything

I am at a loss of what the shape is going forward. The midfield has 0 balance with good individuals but no real cohesion. This could be fixed and I hope for god it does either with more time at training together or a change of personnel. I like Slater & Seri individually but together they're lacking the physicality to play in the champ together and are clearly in need of a ball winner with some bite. Feels unfair to drop one but for the sake of balance it may be necessary.

We have zero width. When the wingbacks do get forward there is no overlap or underlap from the midfield or the wide centre back. Alfie Jones is not fit for a back 3 as he offers zero in ball playing or going forward. Fig had a better game but given he was poor against Blades I would say the bar was low.

Ingram's poor mistake along with slow distribution is meaning its time to try Baxter IMHO.

Oscar is a poacher not a target man. The lack of physicality provided by Tetteh is showing as there's not outlet if we do need to resort to the long ball and then we lose the first ball we have zero fight to win the second in midfield.

On the plus. Pelkas looked ok but it was too late and Stoke sat back. Seri had some nice touches but fear he's just not getting the off the ball help.

Shota needs to change it up. If it were me I'd switch to a back 4. Maybe put Jones as a DM as he did ok against Cov or at least give Simons a go.

My gut hopes we stop the rot and get back onto it quick but another abject performance against Swansea and it could be prime time with an international break to change managers but I get the feeling Shota has a long leash.

    Fingers crossed for better times

This is the thing I've got about the Honeyman knee jerk.

He's a decent championship ratter. I'd have preferred if he stayed, but also understand he was key part of the second worse attacking threat in the league last year - one which was pretty much carried by KLP.

We've replaced Honeyman as 10 with Pelkas, Traore, M'Hand - with Tufan perfectly capable despite being more box to box historically.

What we seems to have been an afterthought, is that who does what Smallwood did?

Who wins the physical battle in midfield?
