Is that why he sticks his finger in our faces every time he wins? But it doesn't explain why he screams like a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert after each win. And why are people posting Vettel's resumé all over the place? Is it to try and convince us how good they think he is? And what does it matter what we think as long as you believe it to be true that should be sufficient in itself.
Looking at those stats though, I'd love to know how many mean something. Yes he has 374 points, but it's only the last 2 seasons a win has given 25 points, and the season has more races than ever before. As a % of points on offer through the season, how many has he taken? He has had 16 front row starts but again, many seasons have had far less races, so I'd love to know whether anyone else can match the %. The same can be said for laps led, and pole-wins. The remaining 12 records are all age related, and you could argue that in the current era of racing that kids can start younger, and it is possible to get into F1 at a younger age as a result. I don't mean to undermine his achievements, he's had a stunning F1 career so far, but I'd love to know whether, if put into context, he still holds all those records.
I think Vettel would be on 153 points or something, with the old points system , which is better than Schumacher's 148 of 2004. With less races too.
Actually I discovered that Vettel has made 24 overtakes this season which is more than I thought he had, but Button has made 67 overtakes the most of any driver this season closely followed by the driver some of you say is crap him being Mark Webber on 66. I honestly believe that Button has been the class driver of the field this season by a very long way, followed by Alonso, Schumacher, Vettel, Rosberg, Webber and Hamilton. Well that's how I see it anyway.
I want 2012 to roll on quick, Hammy-Schumi-Iceman..... Alonso and Vettel...Button, what a championship we are in for, it is a shame it's being arse raped by Sky.
haha you've got that right eternal i dont have sky and im gonna be missing out big time. Dam you bernie you shirt wearing ewok twat.
It's hard to judge how "great" Vettel is without assessing how mediocre (or not) his team-mate is. I was thinking that, to be a "great" a driver has to win championships with more than one tram, (oops, accidental typo - I meant team!), but that throws up some obvious anomalies, including Brabham and Piquet, but excluding Clark and Senna. The point is that a driver needs to prove himself in a variety of situations, with different teams and team-mates. Winning consecutive championships in the same situation doesn't prove very much.
Vettel only needs to win a WDC once every 3 years to equal Schumi, at this rate it doesn't look unlikely!
