I was under the impression that training the commercial team meant sponsorships would be agreed faster, and maybe be worth more, or the sponsors would be less likely to leave. I could well be wrong though. For $1.8m, it's worth a try.

    not to be too judgmental but ur driver may lack in lap times. his concentration is too low and will use alot of time and money to get him good, talent is good, his weight is ok though u may wanna lower it a bit more, weight affects fuel usage amongst other things. other factors include salary and av points per race. imo a driver like this is strong;

    Overall: 76
    Concentration: 223
    Talent: 97
    Aggressiveness: 36
    Experience: 44
    Technical insight: 42
    Stamina: 42
    Charisma: 17

His concentration is really high so you wouldnt have to work on yoga and a liitle bit of aggression is ok to overtake, his talent is good aswell, its not the best but too much talent is by some known to "get in the way" and ull understand when u get the driver oa formula. he is very light but what makes him great is that he will be easily top ten constantly, his stamina is 42 which means he will be super strong for amatuer and his oa is 76. all ud have to do is keep training his stamina and inturn will keep ur drivers oa down. his average points per race is 4.5 but the only thing i dnt like is that hi salary is 1.5 mil while his charisma is really low meaning money will be a liitle bit harder to come by

i have managed to get the oa driver formula i wanna give to you guys but i dnt wanna post it here , (you know coz it may help our competitors who see this on google) if you guys post ur names ill send it to you on gpro. it can help and ull find surprises in how some of the attributes play a part in the oa, especially one. (weight) :)

Sounds good, would it be just as easy to PM it to us on here?

I take your point about my driver, your explanations for the stats seems to tally with my own observations, so poor stats might be the reason! Really regret not looking for other drivers last season now, but this season'll just be about learning anyway, so I guess I can write off a few million of it to begin with. Looking at the market though, it'll be a hell of a lot! Not to mention compensation to my current driver, that'll cost me nearly 5mil I think.

My driver is similar to yours DHCanary but as this will be my first full season I want to mess around with training him and see the effects it has over the season. Also need to add you in the game, got everyone else ;)

I think I've added you, so you should be able to see me on the list of 'managers with you on their friends list'. You'll be able to tell by the initials.

I've gone for a new driver, very similar to the one recommended to me. Concentration and stamina are a little down, but charisma and experience pretty high, and his wage is only half of that of Jett's recommended driver.

ye he looks good, it would be a balance of yoga and fitness to train him but he has a lot of good factors, ie concentartion is good ( not the best), talent is good, experience, s good, he has stamina which is important but he is really cheap and will be good for sponsorship, only thing im worried about the other bidders it usually works out that the highest sign on fee and salary inc bonuses will get him not the last bidder, ill keep my eyes out for a loner, you can find a diamond in the rough

also his tech insight is low but u can get really close to perfect without any at all and itll sacrifice other attributes for higher tech insight

OA Con Tal Agr Exp TeI Sta Cha Mot Rep Wei Age Min sign fee Min salary Offers
    84 246 91 0 120 9 15 160 0 0 79 33 $1.235.000 $715.008 3
    84 240 95 0 86 141 0 34 1 0 83 24 $959.744 $627.031 4
    85 191 83 85 45 57 88 37 0 0 77 22 $1.105.749 $380.000 12

Any idea at what age drivers roughly retire? The top 2 above don't look too bad, I'm just debating whether to stick an offer in, thoughts?

here are some drivers to look at

http://www.gpro.net/gb/DriverProfile.asp?ID=14581 his talent is a bit lower but still ok and all ud have to work on is his stamina keepng oa relatively low

http://www.gpro.net/gb/DriverProfile.asp?ID=1832 his talent is bit lower but still ok, just work on his stamina and his charisma is good and is cheap with no bidders. his oa is 71 so ud have alot off room for training

http://www.gpro.net/gb/DriverProfile.asp?ID=12292 i put this here coz he looks strong but age is his biggesst factor thatl slow him down along with his weight

http://www.gpro.net/gb/DriverProfile.asp?ID=16848 young, relqtively light, ud have to work on yoga and stamina but little pricy with ok charisma

http://www.gpro.net/gb/DriverProfile.asp?ID=9303 bit pricy and 1 other bidder but might wanna take a stab

ill keep my eyes peeled but ye theres not many, you may even want to wait

Welcome GP'er, I'd be happy to see your data, PM me.

Canary, drivers retire when they feel like it, but generally they last until 35ish. It can depend on how many races they have done. All of those drivers you posted look good to me.

Im a rookie, can't say more as my team would flip if they knew I was joining this forum! But they dont talk about the stuff you guys do! Think you guys could help me more then them! lol sad but true! I will be glad to share data with you all! And Like I have a tool but can't just give it a way, if you know what I mean! And I'm dead if the team finds out I even mentioned it! As the team leader made it! Another wet race joy! Should rain the whole race as 57 laps will take about 1hr 35-45mins! and my team says should need 200-210 liters of fuel! 2 stops 70/70/70! What do you guys think?

If someone is willing to do some research, maybe sign the below driver for 6 races?

    http://gpro.net/gb/DriverProfile.asp?ID=7233

Maybe best to wait for the driver market to slow down, as it's mad, mad, mad at the moment.

    Welcome GP'er. <ok>
When Chrispa checks back on here he should send you an invite to our group where we post more sensitive data and on there is a link to a tool that help sets up your car and also gives you some other people's set-ups to use as a starter.

In regards to next race I think it will stop raining near the end because the entire race will last 1 hour 54 and according to the forecast it is 0% rain between 1 hour 30 - 2 hours so the last 10/12 laps could be dry which probably is too long to just stay out on rain tyres so I think it will be a good idea to make sure you switch to dry tyres straight away when it stops raining because it should be solid rain throughout the race up until that point so should not be much of a risk.

ye im expecting the rain to stop at the end like mifune said (57 laps x 2 minutes =114 minutes or 1h 54 minutes), i calculated about 200 litres also but ill need to do proper calc as the dry temp at the end willmean ull need a bit more. so far my strategy looks like ill be doing a long first stint to half way as i think the rain tyres will last then fuel for for second half for a normal one stop but will pit for dry tyres if need so effectively i will be doing 1-2 stops. the pit in/out time is alot but i just wanna make sure the rain tyres will last 154.25 kms, also it may stop raining earlier than expected, (the rain is usually unpredictable) so the strategy im using will eliminate the possibility of the weather screwing my strategy.

    DHCanary
did u find a driver? im interested to find out, ur def on the right track with finding a good driver as all ur picks u posted above were all uniquely good.

ok so ive done some research and the 2 hour race time sepereated into 4 quarters (30 min intervals) is just a guide, to figure out real time and when it would rain ud have to figure out the elite average times and go from there

ok so the elite race first quarter will take roughly 20 laps maybe bit less, so lets say 19 laps x 4 = 76 laps and we are only doing 57 laps so GP'er could be right in that we may have only a few laps of rain if any at all, my strategy now will be either a 1 stopper or 2 stops, without changing tyress to dry tyres if the rain stops. 2 stops (lap 21 and lap 42) if i think theres a possibility the rain will stop that way i have enough fuel for the run home. 1 stopper if i think the rain wont come at all and the tyres will last
