Think thats a bit harsh. Southampton was an excellent performance ... second half v Wolves was very good, Fulham was excellent, forest was very good. We average 16-18 chances per game under JM and Nuno it was 9 or 10. We are unbeaten in 13...lost 1 in the last 18. Think people are being impatient and harsh. I refused to pay to watch us under JM and didn't watch us live on tv unless I had nothing else to do. We were boring and imho I don't think we are now. Not a dg by the way

please log in to view this image I was bit further back than Colin! Back row of the mighty South Stand, Great atmosphere in there last night. As for the match can't add much to what has already been said, too many players just not at their best, too many misplaced passed, too many flicks and tricks particularly first half. Richarlison excellent, and well done Conte for bringing on Kulu where and when he did he was game changer last night. We will need to play much better than that if we want a long journey in this competition, but winning is a good habit and the most important thing about last night - we won an ECL match at the new stadium with me in attendance!
Marseille were toothless in the end product (perhaps no big surprise with some of their forwards out due to injury/suspension) , so fate has been somewhat kind to Spurs. You cannot push your luck though, and Conte will know a big step up in performance from yesterday will be needed against Sporting CP. The important thing is that the performances this season have not been vaguely close to the final third of last season, yet the results are coming in (and not due to flukes or dodgy decisions by the officials) .
Think people feel the "walking on a knife edge" effect when the team is not playing at its best but only ahead by one goal. "I refused to pay to watch us under JM and didn't watch us live on tv unless I had nothing else to do. We were boring and imho I don't think we are now. "Not a dg by the way " Then your post is not a valid and meaningful point.
I thought about this from the Brasil perspective. You are now playing for a club in a competition where your team-mate and fellow countryman put in one of the great performances in recent times. Who would not be fired up when given any opportunity to try to emulate that ??
Btw was kind and very thoughtful of Emerson to help the ref pick up his red card he had just dropped good kid
I reckon Perisic, Kulu and even Dier are better than Kane on Free kicks ****ing ridiculous how he’s still allowed to take them Wasted ammo…seems to be a serious lack of intelligence on this matter from us. or is Kane just a ****er who demands it or might get stroppy? As great as he is a goal scorer…he doesn’t deserve dead ball opportunities game after game, season after season pathetic
The manager has to tell Kane publicly in front of the squad that he is not good enough to be taking direct free kicks (and those who do better in training sessions are first in the queue if on the pitch at the same time) . < me boss, you not > If that has the WUM effect of making Kane train himself to be far better, all well and good. If not, then he is not taking the kicks anyway.
Think last night showed exactly how important it is having another goal scorer in the team. It’s gonna be hard to measure how much we expect of Richarlison with regards to goal tally if he’s not always gonna be starting games but moments like last night where Kane and Son were drawing a blank, having another attacker who can step up (just like Kulu can) is massive. I’m happy to stick my neck out and say we probably have the best set of attackers in the Prem right now. If we can improve our creativity and play into them then we should be very good for goals this season providing no major injuries. Hojbjerg too again stepping up. Two huge goals in the Prem so far and a great assist last night. Really showing his importance this season so far. And also another assist for Perisic… baller. Easily gonna be one of the signings of the season, knew it before he kicked a ball and my mind ain’t changing.
Passmap time please log in to view this image Oh boy, the people who are convinced that Son and Perisic can't play in the same team are leaping on this one, somehow ignoring that Lenglet isn't getting the ball to Perisic enough What does stand out is, much like the West Scam match, once again there's a lack of traffic to the WBs, with Lenglet not getting the ball to Perisic while the pivot isn't getting the ball to Emerson. The difference between the two matches is our passing isn't so railroaded - which a sending off will do What else stands out is we clearly got the ball into the right areas, but the pivot were the players getting the ball forward, plus Romero and Lenglet were getting the ball directly to Richarlison and Son respectively, and this does appear to be tactical as we saw similar patterns against Fulham so maybe there's a tactical tweak to play more vertically with Kane and Richy on the pitch In comparison, OM's shape is closer to ours against the Spammers as they're squeezed together - although Mbemba's sending off clearly changed their shape for a good chunk of the second half please log in to view this image
My "hope of hopes" is that we could have a squad attack with such potency that the manager would have the luxury of not putting Kane in the starting XI for many PL games (give him a final 30 min run out etc) . With Richarlison going as he is, and if Son can get out of his current scoring rut ASAP, I believe we can do it.
