Hello, everyone. Nothing for me today but just a couple of things Beckhampton related. As my regular readers may recall I was very keen on Flag Flying (look to the left and you will see him) at the weekend. However, despite being well supported in the market for Kempton's Group 3 he beat just one home. Consequently, the Stewards called the Charlton's in and Mr Charlton snr reported that he 'felt the colt was perhaps too inexperienced to combine the step up in class and the switch to the all-weather on only his second start'. After considering this explanation the Stewards then 'noted' it - whatever that actually means!!! I'm convinced Flag Flying remains one to follow and look forward to his next appearance. Secondly, the stable's Jumby Breeze has this morn been given the extremely low perching of 52 (1st ever mark for the 4YO filly). Now I'm sure many will say I'm not suprised she's on 52 with a formline like that. But me, personally, I await her handicap debut with very, very, very keen interest. Not many Dubawi's out of Listed winners (who have already, in turn, produced a black type performer herself) are rated that low!!!
19:25 Hexham - Follow Your Fire Not running so well at present, but this C&D winner can make amends as a few of his main rivals have scrappy form. Carries top weight but has a squeak to do well in this Class-5 Handicap Chase. Sean Quinlan rides for the Jennie Candlish yard. 5/1 best price at time of writing.
In this race I'm on Charle Brune 5/1, some of the reasoning you have applied to FYF could be applied to him.
Hexham 555 Shaws bridge 11/4 looks to have a great chance at this with Hughes booked for Mickey Hammond . There strike rate im the last 12 months is above 62% 8 rides 5 wins . M H tends to get them ready for Hughes
