I said he was doing better than taller players around him. 6’3 is taller than 5’9”. If the partner was also 5’9 “ or shorter than they wouldn’t be taller and your reply would not have been both snide and stupid.
From what I saw they were also appealing and complaining at the linesman and/or ref when the ball went out of play!
I see the small midfield arguement as the ball is launched forward by the keeper or a defender. Its headed back into the middle by their defender, where we lose out physically . It is happening often and we are missing smallwood for that reason. I appreciate he does have his limitations, but we do need a ball winner in front of the defence. In my opinion
It's easy to say that, but if he was actually here could anyone honestly say they'd want him playing ahead of Tufan, Seri or Slater? There'd be uproar if we'd kept him and played him ahead of all these new, more talented players.
**** me..... the £10 million machine that was Smallwood.... BTW Smallwood.... 5 foot 9 and weight 11 stone... !!!!@@!
Smallwood's not the answer, a player of that type is, which we've not brought in until, potentially, Simons.
We definitely need another central midfielder so that our full CM 11 can be all natural centre mids, it feels a bit cheap currently with A.Jones in there.
As i said. We do need a ball winner, but smallwood has proved it shouldn't be him by dropping into league 2. Maybe professor x is our man
Hopefully Simons can add a bit off bite in the middle but also help ease the pressure we put on the CBs in possession, we could really do with someone a bit more disciplined in the middle. Slater has bags of energy and enthusiasm but that sees him bombing forward at the first opportunity when we could do with him in midfield looking to take the ball off the CBs as its just not enough to have one of Seri or Woods looking for it, especially as Elder and Coyle are largely high up marked out of the game.
Well maybe he is not up to speed I will give Ten and Pep a call they will put him right. Clearly Ingram and crew are already in the know maybe he is buddies with De Gea
Like the look of that, but let's not get carried away...see what the coaching staff manage to get sorted in the 4 sessions before Cardiff on Saturday, if it starts to come together we could be buzzing by the time Stoke up here on Tuesday...onwards & upwards & bring back all the newbies that had a taste on Sunday!.. I've received 2 tickets today for their first game of the season & their my lucky charms (both only seen City wins with me in the last 15 years) keep it up J & V
