How many will be scored in this one against the Cherries. Over the last few years they over achieved and have done fantastically well, firstly to avoid relegation to the conference from minus points, promotion and then they went close last season. Losing Eddie Howe was a big loss but they've done pretty well under Bradbury and man mountain Steve Fletcher. Things have been a bit harder this season with a on pitch rant by the chairman. Rumour has it a couple of loanees may be in but we will see on Saturday
home win a must, preferably with a clean sheet but I doubt that will happen LOL Depending on what team we put out 3-0 or 2-1
Laughable is not the word to describe the today, defending you wouldn't see in a junior five a side as North End gifted the Cherries three points in another unreal defensive performance at Deepdale. A turgid first half in which the home side led a very poor Bournemouth side through a goal by Tsoumou. Apart from a Save by Turner the first 20 minutes had little or no excitement. After a spel;l of home pressure North End took the lead when a cross to the back post was squeezed home by Tsoumou. A minute later it should have been two when Procter over elaborated close to goal when there were men spare and the chance was lost. Bounemouth offered little and half time came a clean sheet and 1up. What happened in the 2nd half was unacceptable. Within 3minutes of the restart the visitors were level, Bournemouth caught the home side on the break, the ball was played to the far side of the penalty area, Turner went sprinting for a ball he was never going to get, Thomas skipped easilypast him and slid the ball into the net with the keeper stranded. Within 9 minutes the Cherries were head Malone cut in from the right hand evaided one tackle and ran past statsuesque defender before his shot was blocked the ball ran free and he put the ball into an empty net. Then the coup de grace, from a free kick 10 yards from the touchline Turner passed to Carlisle who was in front of the goal 25 yards out, Carlisle miscontrolled the ball and Pugh couldn't believe his luck and rolled the ball into and empty net with the keeper nowhere to be seen. Shocking. Game over, Coutts fired a late effort which was well saved by Flahaven, before with virtually the last move of the game North End missed a sitter which summed up the 2nd half. Daley won a header and from 5 yards out Tsomou contrived to head the ball wide of the far post. Still need 28 points to avoid the drop at this rate that looks a long way away.
Sad but true. We are now a pale shadow of the club we once were. All those who despised Billy Davies, called for the heads of Derek Shaw ,Alan Irvine or Darren Ferguson hang your heads in shame. Or those of us who misguidedly thought that the share robbery (sorry - enlightened exchange) would be our 'Damascus' moment need a dose of reality. For reality is what we have. Having sold or otherwise let go any player with experience or nous we are left with youngsters learning the game (Tsoumou), geriatrics (Carlisle and Alexander) or playing while unable to move freely (Procter). The depth of the mistakes made by senior players (the aforementioned Carlise, Alexander and Taylor (time to change keepers!) has become an embarrassment and something that would not be tolerated by most junior club sides. So time for Mr Brown, and the seemingly vast number of coaches and hangers on that proliferate our bench, to get their heads together, work out a suitable system for the players we have and start earning their corn. For as we stand we are nosediving straight back to League 2. Or is that something that our erstwhile owner wants?
I can't understand how we've gone from winning 7 in a row into this giant free-fall. Conceding six in two games at home is unacceptable and pathetic. Not taking anything away from the opposition but I genuinely can't understand how we've gone from looking like contenders to relegation fodder in 4-5 games. And what has happened to Turner? Was that toe he broke magic or something?
Its got to me now, calling Turner, Taylor!! I believe that Turner thinks that he is on the magic roundabout; rushing here and there without actually arriving in time. He's given more goals away in the past few matches than Lonners gave in two or three seasons. We may be relegation fodder now but in truth we looked dodgy during our 7 match winning streak.
utter, utter rubbish. IMO PB ain't got a clue in terms of players or tactics. Consider; Alexander too old and not what we need in this team; Ashbee, ok but crocked; Turner, oh dear; Daley, runs around and gets nowhere, Tsoumou, despite scoring 3 he is rubbish, does he ever win a ball, a header; Smith, crocked and there you have it Browns eye for a player. As for tactics 442, 451, he has no idea what this represents. Not convinced by his appointment even less so now. We will be stuffed on Saturday and at 17:00 remember, Wayne Brown who PB did not like, Trotman who shone at this level!!!! when we have conceded 4 or 5. Even on our 7 game run we were lucky!!! Brown out ASAP or we will head for Div 2 [4 in real terms]
Phil Brown seems to end up playing his fav players even though there not always the clubs best players . Did that at Hull City many times. Seems to fall out with players then keep them on the ' naughty step ' also will have a go at the players in public to much rather then keep it in the dressing room resulting in players ending up fed up and losing confidence .. I hope you get back to the championship ASAP . Always enjoyed games v Preston and you have decent support ....hope things pick up soon ..ash was awesome for HcFc but he has seen better days ...Shame really as he is one of my Fav players to turn out for HcFc . If Brownie gets the chop Horton might make a decent manager.. Keep the match reports coming. Cheers
Not easy to take, but that's what you were. And your current league position says it all. However, does not say a great deal for us though.
