His movement for Clarke's goal was very very clever and opened up the space Clarke needed. I get the feeling with him he might not be a prolific goalscorer, but with his clever movement and runs he will enable others to score plenty
positional sense and movement off the ball are damn good for a young lad but as i said earlier he needs to work on that first touch, maybe he is trying to rush it to impress his manager or the fans but i feel once he calms down and settles we will see an even better player with plenty of goals in him.
Clarke’s interview was immense. Said “not sure can’t remember much really other than running and sticking it in”(I know I used quotes but I’m paraphrasing) “ might have looked like I did loads but I just ran and it opened up for me”. Humble too which is lovely
Embo's time will come. At the min, Neil and Pritchard are the men in possession. He will get game time over the season
I'm not claiming to be itk, but I genuinely heard this could be a possibility yesterday. Then he comes on with 3 minutes to go last night.
Apart from a great team performance what pleased me last night was we did not appear as fatigued after 65 mins. Whether that was down to Rotherham being rubbish (highly unlikely) or as I would like to think we got our just rewards (finally) last night and the lads just wanted & enjoyed it. More of the same please lads on Monday and then for the rest of the season please.
personally I hope it doesn't and won't happen, but I'm hot seeing where he fits in at the minute. Mowbray may want to change the game plan. we shall see.
I think Mowbray is too canny to change it. After last night he will be trying to get more of the same. He will have some ideas on how to change mid game, but I think those 11 are set for now. Formation looks good, out of possession lads are really stepping up, when we have it we pass great all over the pitch. Momentum from last night is key and I see us winning next Monday as well.
Mowbray actually said after the game "if it isn't broke, don't try and fix it" then went on to say he would add his touch to it. Seems sensible to me
That’s been on my mind the last week or two, realising just how many very good footballers we have now. The lads are passing, controlling and moving the ball beautifully. Really nice to watch. Seeing the clips of the new lads we brought it in yesterday, I think the skill level will increase again.
If it was transfer deadline day at another Championship club ... ... who would you want from Sunderland? Depending on systems, etc, I'd currently want, Patterson Gooch Cirkin Evans Clarke Stewart
