There are only 13 league games before the transfer window opens again. We have Mara and A. Armstrong who can also play as ST. Also seems like we are going to playing 4-3-3 more often now than 4-2-2-2.
unless Aribo can do a job, there is.no one else in the squad who can lead the line and hold the ball up to an acceptable level.
It is weird the lack of striker rumours given that was the one position I felt certain we would fill, especially as Ralph has been confident of doing so throughout the window. I do wonder if by striker he just meant attacker though.
There are some tweets out there suggesting Forest have agreed the same deal for Loic Bade - which can’t be possible as they have used their two loans. So it would have to be a permanent (which it could be) Weird that that one seemed to be announced yesterday and then went completely quiet. You’d hope that is just that it relies on other departures and that we haven’t been gazumped again Not least because there is a chance that we could be looking at 5 failed “Saint X” threads in one window
They have used their two loans so they can’t have agreed exactly the same deal. Doesn’t mean they haven’t tried to bid but it can’t be a loan with an option
So looks like the Gakpo deal is off. So far we are linked to complete deals for the two city Lads and possibly AMN. Leaving looks like Stephens, Bednarek and possibly Redmond. I’m going for 3 in and 3 out.
Make sure 'in' and 'out' are used in transfer context. They are words which stir the emotions and create 'misunderstandings'
Think the rules changed to be two loans maximum, from anywhere? As someone else said, this was to limit clubs like Chelsea hoarding players and loaning them all to Vitesse. Might be wrong.
This is a very good point that I'd not considered. The World Cup (and the relative lack of involvement from our players) coupled with the encouraging start we've had means that if we can't get our preferred targets, particularly up front, then there's really no need to panic. We want a striker but so does everyone. Go after our preferred targets but if they don't materialise we really don't need to get any old body in for the numbers.
Maximum on outbound loans anywhere, but it's much higher than that. Believe it's 8 or some such. Edit: here it is on the PL site: https://www.premierleague.com/news/464747 Loans between Premier League clubs and other English counterparts are officially called temporary transfers. Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2022/23 (Download PDF, size: 8MB), there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/English clubs.
