Boro and Milwall not in the best form. Reading won't be easy, but they just got thumped so it could be part of the usual Paul Ince decline. There are points to be won that fa shoowa
agree - I meant external expectations. which does take a lot of the heat off from a "oh look sunderland have ****ed it" perspective
There was a time in the premier league that every midfielder and attacker was as slow as a snail in a league that required power. It did my head in !
Absolutely nobody knows which club would be in a better position if they go up, although he does have a point about the academy and u21 setup. Sure Stoke may have really wealthy owners but our's aren't exactly skint, also both would still be restricted by FFP rules. Neil left because of money and possibly because he didn't get his own way...simple as that.
These pundits are all bending themselves out of shape trying to find excuses for Neil and looking stupid ... .... it's the MONEY FFS!!!
It's really embarrassing, also wish the local rags and fanzines etc would just stop mentioning him. He's gone and the club has moved on while also still progressing with some pretty impressive signing by the looks of it. Yet we are obviously in turmoil now and we have to start again according to some journalists. If anything it has shown the new structure we have in place is working.
Graeme Souness (I know he is an idiot) reckons Neil was right to walk because we are only signing players under the age of 24 and that wont work. What I often find interesting is pundits are often ones who havent been in a dreasing room for years, and, and they reflect on their own experiences. Whenever you get a pundit in who is still in the game, or just out, they are much more relevant and knowledgeable. Nearly all of the ones on tele now should be retired off and get a new breed in. Better still, dont have pundits at all and just have the match with a commentator and we can trust our own eyes.
I think its hard to argue right now that Stoke aren't better prepared for the Premier League than we are. The question is which will be better prepared in 18 months. Because neither of us are going up this season.
I know they are soundbites, but between last nights press release and Evans comments above I'm really on board with this. It's going to be a bumpy ride we are far from the finished article but pride in the shirt and giving your all on the pitch goes a long way in my opinion
Evans being on board is probably a much bigger thing than I at least had realised. If he has any influence on the younger players, and he should, then the way he interacts with Mowbray should be helping make a good first impression for them
And Talksport union......say something half-baked and wait for the phone to ring.....works every time!
