Yeah and it's been a very good window really but just unlucky that injuries will blight whats been a reasonably good start. Depth will hold nufc back for another year or two then things will really start to snowball
This entirely but it isn't to be sniffed at. Brought in 2 excellent players in Jan and 3 upgrades (Wood is better than Gayle), then 2 excellent players and an upgrade or two in the summer. We do the same in the next two windows and we'd have a top 8 team and looking upwards.
I assume this has mainly become an issue for EPL teams buying European players since Brexit? Fulham's Kluivert chase thwarted by work permit Justin Kluivert's transfer from Roma to Fulham has fallen through after he was refused a work permit. It is thought Kluivert's lack of recent appearances for Roma meant he failed to meet the criteria under the FA’s Governing Body Endorsement rules. The application was heard by an FA panel. And while they recognised Kluivert had made significant appearances for Nice last season, the fact he had not played for Roma this season resulted in them not being able to allow an appeal based on exceptional circumstances. Fulham had agreed a €9.5m (£8.2m) deal with Roma and the player was expected in London on Wednesday for a medical.
Yup. Good old Brexit. The gift that keeps on giving Don't think this is the issue with Izak. The PL or government are probably being obtuse, because it is a signing that threatens the top 6
NUFC want to strengthen midfield and considering a late move for Tielemans or Haidara, with money still available if the right player is attainable - according to Jacque Talbot.
Been a great window and happy with our business. Ideal world we get another midfielder (I like Haidara having watched him). I just think Willock needs competition to push him and Longstaff is still not delivering what we previously hoped. I'd prefer Bruno and Joe played those box to box roles. Willock challenging them for those positions. I'd also like a right winger. Miggy has been class, but I still think he doesn't always have the right end product. Fraser is ok cover, but Jacob Murphy, while a nice lad, is way below PL standard, nevermind if you have ambitions of top 8. Hoping for a nice surprise or two. A central midfielder and right winger would be an ideal end to the window. Don't mind if they are loans, buys, whatever. Quality being the key. I do think Pulisic might be better than he's shown so far at Chelsea in limited chances.
Yeah, another good window so far. 2 more in would be very nice (RW & attacking midfield ideally). But probably unlikely. we do seem to be linked with about 5 midfielders, depending on which media you read. No idea which, if any, are genuine.
This Bakayoko rumour has gone massive. Seems risky but he was so highly rated when he left Monaco. Literally every major club in Europe wanted him. His stock has plummeted, he could barely get a game at Milan on loan last year and they wanted the 2 year loan ended early. Perhaps if its true that Chelsea and Milan are up for cancelling his contract, the club see it as low risk. I'd prefer we went for a Maddison, Ward Prowse type of signing where you know you are getting a guaranteed performer in the PL. But looking at the fees quoted, and our approach to transfers it seems unlikely. This idea we've paid way over the odds for Isak does hold some water. But I've watched the lad and his record is deceiving as he played wide a lot (a former target of ours Willian Jose was through the middle when I watched them a coupe of years back). He is only 22, and the size of him, players like that never show their full potential at a young age. I think he might turn into an absolute gem, but the fans will need to be patient and allow him to adapt.
