Agreed - brilliant pressing on the second half.

I seem to be alone in this but I thought Ely was very good tonight, definitely one of our better performers. Held the ball well and made some decent passes and lots of tracking/defensive work

It’s such a stark contrast to see him with a team! After Lavia scored they were all immediately discussing the gameplan.

Not picking on him, he tends to stand out as he spends time completely out of the game and left poor KWP unsupported in the first half. When everyone is firing on all cylinders he stands out. Much prefer Stu to play but can’t complain about Ralph’s selection at the moment with the results

Great team display with cracking performances by ketchup, lavia, Armstrong and che. Credit to diallo who has not played for ages yet was immense today. Most of his faults last season have been when he gets the ball and tries to pass it back but tonight he constantly took on the Chelsea players and the majority of the time knocked it past them. Not sure the chelsea players were expecting it as i certainly wasnt. Massively helped up from our usual slow build up and saw a fair amount of nice counter attacking play.

It doesn’t take much to beat us, says the manager. No longer a Saints manager quote. This is a Tuchel quote. I think the Saints players will beg to differ. They gave 110% for this win.

For a team that don't score goals, interesting that we are above Chelsea on goals scored...!l

Having a 6 behind him and JWP in midfield really frees them up. They don’t have to be as conservative as there’s a safety with good CBs behind. I’m looking forward to seeing more of him do the things he did for Brest where he was a carry machine.

How good was it too see Brjoa back at St Mary's standing up front getting totally dominated by our brilliant CB pairing? Missed you Armando.

Last year, we had 47.4% possession, with 1.25 xG for and 1.70 xGA against.

This year, we have had 40.7% possession, with 1.17 xG for and 1.34 xGA against.

So despite having much less of the ball to date, we've surrendered far fewer good chances, while creating nearly the same quality of chances. And that against a difficult slate.

Yep - mine too. Looks like they’ve sorted it out. Well done to them - I’m a satisfied customer tonight!

    Mabuti thread.

    Tagalog sa susunod?

Strongly agree with this, very noticeable that prior to Aribo coming on they were all stood up discussing what to do next. Last season Ralph spent nearly all of it stood alone, must feel like a weight off id imagine.

Jason Cundy having a meltdown on TalkSport

Right now he is hammering the table insisting that Broja has got to start

As has been said, great team performance. one thing I noticed was the accuracy of our keepers kicks, constantly putting in areas Adams could attack and win. Great distribution and gives our game another dimension when we need it. Though helped by Che, who looked like Joe Jordan tonight

Baz looked great this evening. As has been said before, we have a *proper* keeper now, and it feels like it too.

His positional play was very smart. Gave us a lot of protection.
